From the very beginning, the experience was unsatisfactory. They were late to pick me up at the hotel. When we arrived at Attitlán, I was sent to the wrong place and I had to complain a lot not to wait. I came after everyone for breakfast. In the first pueblo, I was barely directed on the meeting place before we continued the activity. If I hadn't found a guide's brother, he'd have left me behind. I filed a complaint and was roughly treated by the company, which, of course, refused to return the money. Run from this.

Amazing trip!! For only 90 dollars, in 5 hours my friends(5) and other travelers in a crowd of 7 and I had unique, interesting chocolate, amazing views from the major towns around the lake, access to traditional clothes to buy, and on top of this, our tour guide Kevin is a BASED GUATEMALAN CHAD. He made the experience always, always educating us on Mayan traditions, as well as spreading his basedness to everyone with amazing professionalism.

Look, I don’t normally take time to write reviews, but I felt I needed to for this. I am in no way coerced or endorsed to write this message lol, but I want to say THIS is the tour guide group if you want to learn and experience the true culture and identify of the different towns of Atitlan. My friend and I are medical students and booked this and let’s say we were NOT disappointed. The team really went above and beyond to give us a quality experience of what this part of Guatemala has to offer. You get a yummy breakfast — eggs, refried beans, cheese, fruit, plantains, coffee or tea, all yummy. The tours were incredible, so many different experiences like ancient practices of ceramic making, thread work, cocoa processing and sampling, and tons of information about the cultures and history. It’s a MUST to book. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Kevin was absolutely the best tour guide ever! I can't thank him enough, he has so much knowledge and passion, especially for such a young age. Thank you for a great day out, Kevin!

I had read the reviews about how bumpy the boat journey can be but nothing prepares you for this spine destroying experience. These boats, designed for a slower speed, bounce like a speedboat with more powerful motors. Being heavy, the impact is intense and there’s no relief. Even moving to the back of the boat didn’t help much. The towns very touristy, the guide worked hard to coral the passengers but incomplete Instructions to the meeting place resulted in long waits.

Our guide Kevin was very friendly and dedicated to explaining everything to my non-Spanish speaking dad, doing double duty. It accommodated us and maintained organization and at the same time fun while taking us everywhere. He knows a lot about indigenous history and is Mayan himself so it was a very representative experience. I highly recommend this tur and think it is cheaper than other options too!

The two towns were beautiful, but the tour was pretty disorganized. The lake was not particularly choppy but the three boat rides were extremely bumpy--felt slammed around a lot. If you have ANY sort of neck or back problems, do not attempt this tour. I think the boat captain could have driven slower to make the ride a bit less jarring, but did not ever check in with passengers. Wouldn't do this one again.

I can highly recommend this tour. From the moment the tour guide picked us up at our hotel in Lake Atitlán until the end of the day, the service was excellent. The guide was very professional and spoke English fluently, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Everything was well organized, and we received a reconfirmation the day before the tour. The boat was on time, and only the people who booked the tour were on board, which made the experience more comfortable and personalized. At pickup, the guide already had all the information and only asked for our first and last names. One of the nicest parts of the experience was my first-ever ride in a tuk-tuk, which was arranged by the tour guide—fun and well coordinated.
