At the Hill of Crosses, travelers will see one of Lithuania’s most unique and moving sites, covered with thousands of crosses of different sizes, styles, and meanings. Visitors can walk freely among the crosses, take photos, and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this symbolic place of faith, hope, remembrance, and resilience. Leaving a cross on the hill is optional. Travelers are welcome to bring one from their own country, make one themselves, or buy one on site. Although it is a famous pilgrimage site, the Hill of Crosses is not only for religious visitors — everyone is welcome to experience this unique and meaningful place.
