Our adventure starts at a cozy camp near Olkkajärvi Lake. Here, we’ll spend 2.5 hours searching for the stunning Northern Lights. If conditions are safe, we might also take a walk on the ice. While we wait, we’ll gather around a campfire, enjoy hot drinks, and savor sausages and rice pies. It’s a wonderful mix of natural beauty and warm comfort.
After our time at Olkkajärvi Lake, if we haven’t yet seen the Northern Lights, we’ll head to Norvajärvi for the next part of our adventure. There, we’ll continue our search for the captivating auroras and, if conditions allow, explore the frozen lake surface. It’s another opportunity to experience the stunning Arctic night and the beauty of the Northern Lights.

I was so lucky to experience the strongest aurora compared to the previous days. The aurora colors seen by the naked eye are never as intense as the result in the long exposure pictures... that can be disappointing if one expects vibrant colors in the sky like I did haha. But nonetheless, this is a great natural spectate. The tour was well organized, simple but cozy, with a great barbecue, tea and marshmallows. Great hospitality from Alex and his colleague. Thank you

Horrible tour guide. Alex didn’t say one word during the tour. He didn’t talk about the northern lights at all and didn’t even point them out when they appeared. I’ve loved all my tours in Finland so far, but this one was terrible and I don’t recommend it at all!

We dreamed to see Aurora so badly. The sky was cloudy on 28/01/2025. So we had no much chances. The driver picked up us from where we stayed. So we were very happy. Especially when he dropped us home after the trip. We were brought to one location. But we stayed there max 15 min because we did not find it. Then we went to the second location. The driver made the fire. I was expected the fire in the wooden tent. But I was told it's better at the open fire. We had sausages (I would suggest to coock more than one per person due to long standing). Also he cooked some rice bread (delicious). My son enjoyed marshmallow, hot juices. I accidentally looked at the sky to different direction where we were told to watch and I saw 2 stars. I said maybe there are no cloads there. And I tried to take a photo. And you will not believe. AURORA appeared. I can't describe the happiness and the feeling. So so happy🥰🥰🥰

The guide was really caring that we will see nothern lights and we were really lucky to see them. I personally liked that it was not only cookies and hot drink suggested but also sausages and marshmallows, prepared on fire. Duration of activity is optimal for those who are with kids.

Well, this was a great experience for me and my family! The guide Alex is just a great guy, he has his own attitude in speaking to people! We saw aurora for the first time in our lives and it was incredible experience. Fireplace, sausages and hot tea worth mentioning. There is nothing better than getting warm near the campfire, eating hot Finnish sausages and drinking hot tea, inspecting the sky and noticing the northern light.

We made a last minute booking with Alex to go looking for the Northern Lights. Alex picked us up at our apartment and brought us out to the lake where we found the lights. We had lots of time to take photos while Alex made a fab BBQ for us all. He was so kind and accommodating to us all. He even brought treats for the kids. I cannot recommend Alex enough for the trip he provided. He was so knowledgeable and shared lots of information with us.
