Berat Castle

The Berat Castle is an enormous castle on the top of the hill in Berat. From the castle, you will have amazing views in all directions and see the historical town and river below. Within the castle walls, you will see a village-like neighborhood, called Kala. Until this day, the local people are still living within the castle walls. The castle dates back to the 13th century and there are many Byzantine churches within the walls and one Ottoman mosque.

Holy Trinity Church

The Holy Trinity Church is one of the most well-preserved churches inside the Berat castle. It will be one of the first buildings you see, as you walk up the hill towards the upper castle. The church is very beautiful and quite an eye-catcher. It was build in the 14th-century and still remains beautiful until this day.

National Iconographic Museum Onufri

The Museum of Iconography is a museum, which displays religious painting from several Albanian monasteries. The museum is located within the castle walls in the largest church on the premises, called "the Church of the Dormition of St. Mary". The museum is named "Onufri" after the famous Albanian fresco and icon-painter.

National Ethnographic Museum Berat

Just down the hill from the Berat castle, we will visit the National Ethnographic Museum of Berat. The museum is located inside a beautiful 18th-century Ottoman house. On the ground floor, you can see a traditional medieval bazaar with embroidery, woodcarving and metalworking shops. On the second floor, you can visit a traditional house with a guest room, a kitchen and a work room.

Then in the late afternoon, we will visit the Mangalem & Gorica Quarters. These are the traditional neighborhoods build on the side of the hill. You will see hundreds of little white Ottoman-style houses. From the bottom of the hill, it looks like the little houses are stacked on top of each other. Therefore, Berat is called "the city of a thousand windows". In short, Berat is a very romantic city with an Italian atmosphere.

After visiting the sights of Berat, you will have some free time to stroll through the old neighborhoods of Berat. You can buy souvenirs, sit down on one of the many terraces, take stunning pictures on the bridge and try some local food. Berat has many beautiful architecture and traditional houses, which have been turned into restaurants, shops and hotels. After seeing this beautiful city, you will no doubt understand why Berat was awarded the status of museum city and labeled an UNESCO Heritage Site.

Gjirokaster Castle

Gjirokastra Bazaar

Stroll through the Old Bazaar Market, a maze of narrow, cobbled streets filled with local shops offering traditional crafts and products.

The Cold War Tunnel

Next, step back in time at the Cold War Tunnel, a unique bunker museum that reveals Albania's secretive communist era.

Skenduli House

In the afternoon, dive deeper into Gjirokaster's cultural heritage with a visit to Zekate or Skenduli House, traditional Ottoman-style homes that provide insight into the city’s fascinating history.

The Blue Eye

The following day is an exciting mix of nature and history, beginning with the incredible Blue Eye Spring, followed by a visit to the UNESCO site of Butrint, one of Albania’s most spectacular archaeological parks. Start the day with a trip to the Blue Eye, a mesmerizing natural spring known for its vivid blue waters, which resemble a human eye. The crystal-clear waters flow from a deep underground cave, creating a magical scene. This spot is breath-taking!

Butrint National Park

Then you will head to the ancient city of Butrint. With layers of history from Greek, Roman, and Byzantine times, Butrint is a UNESCO World Heritage site that blends ruins with lush nature. You go on a circular walk around the "almost-island" and explore hidden ruins, forgotten history, lush nature and stunning views over lake Butrint and the Vivari channel.

Ksamil Beach

In the afternoon, your tour guide will drive you to Ksamil to relax. Ksamil is known as the "pearl of the Albanian Riviera".

Borsh Beach

On your final day, take a scenic coastal journey back to Tirana along the stunning Albanian Riviera. Visit pristine beaches, picturesque islands, and charming seaside villages, all while soaking in the beauty of the Mediterranean coast. Start your day with a visit to Borsh Beach, one of the longest and most beautiful beaches along the Albanian Riviera. Known for its crystal-clear water and peaceful atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the morning.

Porto Palermo Castle

Next, head to Porto Palermo to explore the Castle of Ali Pasha, a triangular fortress situated on a small island in the bay.

Himare

As you continue along the coast, you’ll reach the Llogara Pass, the highest point on the coastal road. At an elevation of 1,027 meters, this mountain pass offers spectacular panoramic views of the Ionian Sea, Palase Beach and Dhermi.

Zvernec

Afterward, head towards Zvernec Island, a peaceful and serene island in the Narta Lagoon. Cross a wooden bridge to reach the island, where you can visit the Zvernec Monastery and enjoy the tranquil environment.

Vlore Beach

Finally, make your way to Vlore Beach, where the Ionian and Adriatic seas meet. Take some time to enjoy the beachside promenade, filled with cafés, shops, and beautiful views of the sea.
