Advertised as English and Chinese tour but would not recommend for English speaking guests. Scenery was great but overall experience was not up to usual Viator standards. Train trip was worthwhile, but advertised at 100 yen when actually 2000 yen per person. Overall the tour was not worth the money spent. Booked on Viator site but tour run by JRT group.

Wear comfortable shoes and prepare to layer your clothes! Some moments it gets hot, some moments it gets cold. We also recommend to walk back to the meeting point first at the gorge rather than eat at the noodle place. You avoid the crowd and get to take better photos:)

Takakicho Gorge was very beautiful but it was a strenuous walk, especially on a hot and muggy day. The guide Kevin was exceptional and should be commended for excellent service.

Kevin was a very good and lively guide! His english was a bit hard to understand at time but he made up for it with great sense of humor. The tour, also, was not a max of 21 people as advertised. We went in a 42 people group.

We stayed close to the meeting point, so it only took a few minutes to walk there. The guide contacted us the night before and sent us a photo, making it a smooth pickup. Our guide Lara is a very kind, talented, and enthusiastic lady. She pointed out the most photogenic views, which helped a lot! It was worth the money and I would highly recommend it.

The tour company messaged me on WhatsApp the day before, so no need to worry about losing contact. Our guide spoke three languages — very impressive and super friendly. Takachiho Gorge, Amano Iwato, and the scenic train were all amazing. Really worth the trip!

Our guide was seki. She was excellent and did a great job giving the commentary in English , Chinese and Japanese . The day was long and we had to grab lunch on the run but the shrines and gorge were all beautiful . Seki was very tactful and polite when we lost a couple of people at the gorge stop .
