Our tour starts with pickup either from your hotel in Milan or from the train station in Alba/Asti. We will visit our first winery in the Barolo wine region. After our first wine tasting we move onto lunch in a traditional restaurant. After lunch we will head to our next winery in the Barbaresco wine region. While moving between the wineries and restaurant we will be taking the scenic route with lots of photo opportunities as we pass through the picturesque hills and towns of the Langhe. Both cellar visit last between 2-3 hours and include a tour of the cellar, vineyards and wine tasting of several different wines and vintages. Visiting from Australia. We've been on our fair share of wine tours but this was next level. Very relaxed, very chilled, no fuss. Giovanni & Marco are very passionate about not only wine, but the region that they live in. We 100% want to come back and do it again. We felt like family by the end of it! Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. Hands down better than our tour in other regions like Tuscany.

Marco is a very passionate wine maker who is keen to show you both textbook and farmer-knowledge of winemaking in piedmont. The tour includes an excellent mix of family-owned wineries some selling internationally and some selling only locally. Enjoyed it so much we shipped a case of it back and Marco was extremely helpful in making it happen. Cheers!

[[I resubmitted this to trip advisor after a month of being stuck in review, maybe it was too long]] My wife and I recently had the pleasure of taking a Langhe Wine Tour with Marco. Marco was very friendly yet professional, incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about everything Piemonte esp the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato regions and their wines; in short, he’s a proud Piemontese except for his Lombardian calcio serie A team selection :). He took us to three beautiful wineries (two + a historic tasting room), where we learned about the history, terroir, grapes, winemaking process and tasted a variety of delicious wines. The first winery we visited was a small family-run winery in Barolo (Alberto Ballarin) in the heart of the Barolo region. We had a great tasting then a visit to the cellar with Alberto himself. We tasted different wines from their Dolcetto and Barbera, then with Nebbiolo, Langhe Nebbiolo, their Barolo Classico and then specific single vineyard. Other than reds, an interesting tasting was for Nascetta, a native white grape from the area that is rare now but making a comeback The second visit was to Produttori del Barbaresco, not the winery/cellar but the tasting room where you try the Langhe Nebbiolo and the Barbaresco classico, a must visit for anyone interested in Barbaresco wine making history (too bad they don't sell their single vineyard wines there) The final and my favorite stop was at Galarin, their family winery where we visited the vineyards (late September, Nebbiolo harvest was a few days to go, so tasting a grape with the right ripeness from the vine was great), the cellar and then the tasting room. Learning about everything from the viticulture to the wine making (maceration time, use of different wine fermentation techniques and vessels including their old wooden fermenter). We had the opportunity to taste a variety of Galarin wines including the Barbera d'Asti, and the Barbera d'Asti Superiore. We also tried the Pinot nero (very aromatic), their monferrato nebbiolo and the great limited quantity 2019 Barolo which I wish they continue to make, it was the best Barolo I tasted that day (and best Nebbiolo overall) with powerful tannic yet elegant and aromatic (looking forward to trying the bottle I bought in a few years). The cherry on the top was their Moscato d’Asti which is not something you have with desert (you can), it is a desert on its own. In addition to the wine tastings, Marco also took us to a picturesque villages (e.g. La Morra) to take in the beautiful scenery as well as understand the terroir, where the different villages and communes are, changes in climate and how that affects wine. Overall, we had a wonderful experience on our Langhe Wine Tour. We highly recommend Marco and the Langhe Wine Tours to anyone interested in learning more about the region and its wines.

We had a great day out with Marco. It was lovely to visit his own winery and taste his wines - we also enjoyed two other tastings. As a wine maker he is really knowledgeable about the whole process and the industry. He also speaks excellent English! Another treat was a stop for lunch at Wine Story in Castagnole. Thank you Marco!

Excellent tour of Piedmont. Marco was a very good tour guide who was exceptionally knowledgeable about the region and wine production in general. He was easy to communicate with, payment was simple online, and he arrived on time to pick us up, and dropped me off promptly to catch my train before departing. The wineries he took us to explored the breadth of winemaking in the region, with excellent selections from the three vineyards we visited and ample tasting. Lunch was spectacular in a quaint little village, and the views were breathtaking! I would highly recommend this tour!

Marco did an excellent job explaining the different varieties and regions. We spent 2 days touring Barbaresco and Borolo wine regions around Alba Italy . Being a farmer himself, his wine Gallatin was excellent as well as the 3 other wineries we visited. I will never forget the “hazelnuts” 😃

Marco is a young local wine maker who arranged 2 days of tours. Good communication with our group. Very helpful in getting wine shipped to the US. We started from outside Alba. We were picked up in a van. (7 passengers ) Marco explained the plan for the first day and we were off to see Barbaresco wineries. First winery was a family owned winery for years. Featured being the first organic grower/ wine maker. Great tasting and tour. Reservations for Lunch at a local restaurant with wonderful traditional menu. Second stop was Glarin winery. Good tasting- both offered a good understanding of the terrior of the region and the importance. Day 2 the other side to Barolo. A little bigger wineries with great stories of their families and production. Stra and Manzone wineries were on our agenda. We had magnificent vistas. Home grown and harvested hazelnuts available. Another great local lunch! Vinoteca Centro- Storico. Thank you Marco Carosso for your thoughtful planning and great explanation of the region and the wines.

Oh my gosh, words cannot express how much we loved this day. Angelina and Marco were incredible and were able to help us ship wine home to Australia. This day was absolutely magical visiting small wineries that we could not have possibly found on our own and learning so much about the region. The lunch was delicious and if there is ONE thing you choose to do while in this region, this tour has to be it!! Loved, loved, loved it 🍷🍇

Amazing day - first with Angelina, who picked us up at the trainstation in Asti and showed us their own vineyard and gave the first tasting. Then she took us to a Barbera winemaker and showed us the town. After an amazing lunch Marco took over, bringing us to the Barolla-part of the area. There we went to another winery with great wines and where they also took the time to show us everything. And we could asking anything - thanks again Laura for all the information. Both Angelina and Marco shared their knowledge about the area and winemaking. An amazing day! With great wines and a great lunch (not included, but they did make the reservations). We would definetely book again.
