Jeir Creek Wines
Worked hard to create a new look label that shows both where our wines began and where we are going. The Royal Bluebell, now in gold, reminds us of Jeir Creek Wines’ rich history. As the floral emblem for the ACT, it also continues our strong connection to Canberra. The rest is us, modern, yet classic. Tradition and history are as important to us as modernization and quality. We hope you agree that our new look brings these values together. You will continue to see some of our old labels on our older vintages until sold out.
Eden Road Wines
2021 James Halliday Wine Companion: Eden Road is a Red 5-Star Winery. Your tastings will include: 95 Points - 2018 The Long Road Syrah The fruit from Eden Road Estate vineyard in Murrumbateman & the Hilltops GI. 95 Points - 2018 Canberra Syrah The fruit from Eden Road Cullarin Block 71 vineyard at Lake George Escarpment (first planted in 1971 by the father of the Canberra wine industry Dr. Edgar Riek & Eden Road estate vineyard in Murrumbateman Block 94 (second planted in 1972). Eden Road vines are grown across a collection of unique properties comprising different soils and altitudes, with grape varieties best suited to these conditions, to produce wines of varietal purity, finesse and complexity. In 2017 award-winning French winemaker Celine Rousseau joined the family at Eden Road Wines; and since, Eden Road winemaking has been re-defined. It is based on world-leading traditional techniques aimed at producing wines that are a pure and sincere expression of their terroir.

Paid for a 9 hour tour, only was barely 7 hours. Only visited 2 wineries, 1 distillery which was the highlight of tour and 1 brewery tour that was disorganized . The bus was many the tour guide not informative of any local knowledge and not very interactive with us Not recommended for the price paid

We met at the Visitor's Center and were picked up by a large van. The AC worked great, so we were happy. This was a small tour with just the 4 of us and 3 charming sisters from New Zealand. By the end of the trip we were all best friends! We drove to Dog Trap Winery about 45 minutes away. It was a very pleasant drive through beautiful countryside. We met the Owner Dennis, who frankly was a delight. He walked us through the process he uses for wine making and showed us the equipment. He also discussed the things they try to keep birds away from the grapes. That was crazy! Wee tried 9 red wines including some not released and an amazing mulled wine. They were available for purchase and most people bought at least one. The tastes were varied and excellent and easy to find one you liked. We then traveled to Shaw Winery which was a larger, more modern facility. We're tried 5 white wines including a sparkling rose, which was excellent. They gave us some crackers and cheese which was nice. They talked about their wines and how they were made. It was very pleasant and fun. Next we went to Ambrosia distillery. All their spirits are made on site. We sampled 8 spirits including two flavored gins and 6 flavored vodkas. This was something we've never had and was very interesting. Andrew talked to us about his process and what works and what doesn't. Some of the spirits were fine straight up, some needed a mixer. It was all very interesting in what we liked and didn't. Everyone had an opinion. Andrew sold the spirits there but we decided to try the website when we get back from our holiday. Lastly we visited Capitol Brewery. We were able to choose wine or beer and could have a 3 flight choice if beers. Honestly, I was so full by then I could only taste them but the ones I chose were excellent. There was also food available to buy if you wanted. There wasn't a tour or anything but we were in the distillery and could see the tanks and such. Since we coincidentally all stayed in the same area of Canberra, we were kindly dropped off at our hotel / airbnb. We returned around 3:30pm. It was a long but fun day. There's not a lot of time for things like viewing the orchards or seeing the surroundings and we didn't get to talk at all with the beer brewers. That would have added a lot of time, so I get that. If your goal is to drink a lot of different things and learn some about their process, this is for you.

Lots of fun, great guide and we went to some truly unique wineries with delicious wines. I honestly didn’t know some of these wineries and I’m from Canberra!

We really enjoyed visiting four wineries and learning about the local wines. Lunch was great and the beers with lunch were excellent. Bishoi is a great tour guide. We recommend the Merry Heart wine tour.

What an amazing tour with Bishoy. Very good communication with pickup and explanation on the bus. Coke, solo and water provided on the bus. Two wineries done in the morning with a brewery in Canberra done for lunch. The highlight of the tour was the gin diserrley at Ambposia and there Gin, Vodka and cocktails display. Very fun and would do again. 5 stars outstanding.

This was an excellent trip. They were very flexible and accommodating with their locations (even suggested another winery as we were ahead of time). We tried a couple of new venues and loved them.

We did the wine tour with Bishoy and it was amazing. Great experience and really fun weekend activity to do. Opportunity for improvement is to allow a little more time, especially for bigger groups. It felt a little bit rushed at some point
