The protected landscape area Bohemian Paradise (Český ráj) is a nature reserve about 90 km north-east of Prague. We will travel there by train (takes 2 hours one way). This time we want to take you to the area called Hruboskalsko Rock City. You will discover there Valdštejn Castle, Hrubá Skála Château, symbolic climber cemetery, many spectacular viewpoints giving you a stunning panorama of rock city. You will enjoy the remarkable beauty of the landscape and numerous historic landmarks, bizarre rock formations and deep pine forests.
The route is 16 km long, with short uphills.
If infants/children are participating, the itinerary of the trip will be adjusted accordingly to accommodate these age groups.

What To Expect
Hruba Skala - Rock City
The protected landscape area Bohemian Paradise (in Czech Český ráj) is a nature reserve about 90 km north-east of Prague. This time we want to take you to the area called Hruboskalsko. You will discover there Valdštejn castle, Hrubá Skála castle, symbolic climber cemetery, many spectacular viewpoints giving you a stunning panorama of rock city. You will enjoy the remarkable beauty of the landscape and numerous historic landmarks, bizarre rock formations and deep pine forests.
The isolated sandstone rock is located at the northern edge of the plateau of Hrubá Skála, not far from Valdštejn Castle, some 2 km to the south of Turnov. The top offers a wonderful view of the surrounding area – Turnov, the ridge of Kozákov and the (more distant) ridge of Ještěd, the Jizerské Hory, Bezděz and Ralsko.

5.00This was a very nice hike with wonderful views, impressive rock formations and a nice lunch in the castle. Equally important, we had a lovely group of people, made up of returning participants and first-timers. All (except myself) were expats living in Prague, but as a solo traveller I had no problem fitting in. The best thing is probably that Nomad Society is totally unpretentious: just a bunch of people who like to go out there, hike, and enjoy nature in the company of others.

5.00An amazing trip with amazing people and an amazing guide! 100% recommend, it was very beautiful! The track was not very difficult but you could feel the burn in the legs after it (16km)! But definitely worth it!

5.00This is the best way to see the nature in Czech Republic. The trip was fun with a friendly and knowledgeable guide Yuliya. I really enjoyed it and the views are super amazing. The transportation and hiking route are well organised so no worry about it. Highly recommend!!!

5.00Team is really great and you'll for sure enjoy any trip with them. I have been till now on 3 trips and it's been great experience. They are professional, nothing is canceled, information about trip is given in advance, so you have feeling how to dress, what to expect and what food to bring. Hruba skala is great national park, we visit it in February and we could see lots of nature, some snow, great views and learn about some historical points. Highlight for me was lunch at castle.
