Lerwick is the main town and port of the Shetland Islands.
On our first stop we will visit the incredible Clickimin Broch. After seeing this remarkable site, we will drive back to the centre and spend some time visiting some of the main attractions in this amazing village:
Fort Charlotte- Hay´s Dock is a beautifully restored historic dock. Visit the Shetland Museum and Archives where the galleries are split into different zones. Enjoy the picturesquely grouped house and stores built on lodberry.
Enjoy the views over Victoria Pier. You will visit the Scalloway area, until 1708 it was the capital of Shetland Island but now it is a fishing port, really worth a visit, on your way to Scalloway you can have a quick look some famous ponies of Shetland

5.00Asif met us at the pier. Unfortunately our ship was late and was also departing earlier than expected. He took it in stride and still got all the expected stops in. We learned alot of the history of the islands. We got to see puffins and also petted the Shetland ponies.

4.00Good guide - but we expected and booked this based on the photo of the vehicle that was shown on website - a van with 2 double seats facing each other - very disappointed that as a group of 4, one sat in front seat, 2 in back seat & 1 in rear . Truly the only reason that we booked was because of the website photo of van seat configuration so really bad.

5.00My husband and I booked a private tour and had the pleasure of having Amanda as our guide. She took us all over the island. She packed us a nice lunch and we enjoyed it looking over the water and beach. Her soup was top notch!!! We saw so much and couldn’t have had a better day. We saw ruins, churches, light houses, harbors, beaches, cliff side views, puffins, shetland ponies and shetland sheep. We even saw ostriches and a couple of wallaby in Scotland! It was an amazing day!!!! Would recommend this for anyone wanting a personal explanation of the history and thorough view of this beautiful island.

Having been there before, I was eager to revisit old haunts and discover new treasures, which was satisfied. 5.00First of all, Amanda is probably one of the best tour guides we've ever had. It felt like visiting a best friend in another country. She's vivacious, extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful driver. I actually don't have enough words to describe how perfect our day was. Amanda made sure we saw as much as humanly possible in the time that we had together ❤️ We saw ruins,old buildings, animals, nature, everything and anything that she felt was important for us to experience. She explained everything we were looking at perfectly. Everywhere we went, everyone said hello to her. So many people knew her. I'm sure she's very loved and I can see why. We didn't want to leave her. We highly recommend her. Don't miss Amanda if you come to Lerwick. Also on a side note, the communication between Pilar (viator) and us was perfect. Pilar always answers and reassures us that the meeting up with the guide will go seamlessly, and it did.
