Nizwa Fort Oman

We depart Muscat to Nizwa, the old capital of Oman. Visit to the famous Nizwa Fortress. Today, the for is a museum that showcases the history of the fort and surrounding area. Walking through the fortress you get to see amazing views of the ancient town and the nearby mountains. This impressive fortress was a base used in the military to hold off the hardest attacks and seiges.

We had an exceptional day exploring Nizwa, Nizwa Fort, and Jebel Akhdar with our driver and guide, Fauzi. From start to finish, he was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the region’s history and culture. Fauzi made every stop more meaningful with his insights and stories, and he ensured we were comfortable throughout the entire journey. His driving was smooth and safe, especially on the winding roads up to Jebel Akhdar, and he never rushed us at any point. The combination of breathtaking scenery and Fauzi’s warm hospitality made this one of the highlights of our trip to Oman. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Nizwa or the surrounding mountains—thank you, Fauzi, for an unforgettable day!

An incredible day trip to Nizwa , Nizwa fort and Jebel Akhdar. From the moment we were picked up, we knew we were in for a great experience thanks to our fantastic and friendly tour guide and driver, Mr Fauzi. Nizwa forte was incredible, not only for the structure itself, but you leave with so much knowledge about the history and people of Oman. The views in Jebel Akhdar were truly breathtaking. We also cherish the hospitality and warmth of the Omani people. We highly recommend

My trip to Oman was an unforgettable experience, made even more special thanks to our guide Ali. With his professionalism, kindness, and deep knowledge of the country, Ali led us to discover the natural wonders of this fascinating land. We booked a full day private Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar tour with Sunshine Tours Oman. The historical city and markets gave us an insight into the Omani culture and history. We then headed to Jebel Akhdar for lunch and great scenic views. Our tour guide Fauzi was incredibly hospitable and well informed. He made our day very comfortable. Highly recommend the tour and Fauzi as your guide!!

We had an amazing unforgettable experience thanks to our tour guide Fawzi! We visited Nizwa Fort and Jabal Akhdar along with a few other places in between including souq. Fawzi had great knowledge, was charismatic and enjoyable to be around. I must say that our experience was exceptional thanks to our tour guide Fawzi. 🙏 Highly recommend this tour and ask for Fawzi as your guide, if he is available, you won’t be let down.

The tour to Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar was a real experience. Punctual pickup, clean car, water on site. From the traditional souk to the impressive fortress to the majestic mountain landscapes, the day was full of variety and visual highlights. The magnificent views along the route were particularly impressive. And I didn't eat more dates in one day;) Our guide Fawzi has enriched the whole thing further: humorous, attentive and he knows everyone you meet on the tour. An excellently organized tour, full of special moments, highly recommended!
If you want to see and learn about Oman this is a must do trip

We had a wonderful day visiting Nizwa, the Birkat Al Mouz Ruins and the Green Mountain. Highlight for us was the fort, so much information in there which gave us a really good understanding of Oman’s history. The drive up Green Mountain was not as bad as I thought it would be with a good road system. The view once you get there is outstanding and well worth the drive. We stopped for a nice coffee and just took it all in which we highly recommend. Our guide Said Al kiyumi was brilliant again. We were lucky enough to have had him on a previous trip. His knowledge was superb, his photography skills amazing and he was just a really funny nice guy so ask for him if you can 👌. Although you are in the car a long time just seeing the views and mountains and Oman as it is was really worth it for us.
