Siquijor is an island province located at the Central Visayas Region of the Philippines. It is composed of six towns; Enrique Villanueva, Larena, Lazi, Maria, San Juan and Siquijor. The island is bordered on the northwest by Cebu and Negros islands, on the northeast by Bohol, and on the south by the northern Mindanao provinces of Misamis Occidental (Dapitan) and Zamboanga del Norte (Dipolog).
Siquijor is an island province of the Philippines, located in Visayas, considered to be the third smallest province in the country. Even though small, this island has a lot to offer: stunning beaches, caves and waterfalls.

What To Expect
St Francis de Assisi Church
The National Historical Institute marker plastered on the church wall, teaches me that the parish was founded in 1783. That makes this the oldest church, convent and bell tower on Siquijor Island. The start of the very first, new parish on the island of Siquijor, which was soon to be divided into smaller parishes across the island during the Spanish reign. The church used to have a nipa roof which has now been converted into a tin one. Behind the simple and facade of the church you will find the basic cruciform plan of the modest church. Do not be fooled by the looks of this church, it seems pretty small but once inside you notice it is a big church. The décor inside is very minimal, mostly white ceiling with old antique lamps hanging, some religious icons and the original yellow floor tiles give this church a special combination of soberness and almost a rural charm.

1.00The local operator just didn’t show up today to pick me up…they didn’t even notify me or Viator and simply can’t get through by call or message. This whole arrangement is ridiculous and never ever experienced by other tourist. Cancellation and refund is still pending without response from the operator. Horrible tour provider.
Beautiful sites but NASTY TOILETS everywhere!

2.00Siquijor is a beautiful Island. For its beautiful views, beaches, and waterfalls, I give it a rating of 5. However, I did not like that it is so commercialized. Even the Old Balete Tree was surrounded by shops and now they charge you a fee to enter and look at that tree. Even taking pictures at Pitogo Cliff is so irritating and frustrating. For a fee, they will take pictures of you at their best spots and direct your pauses for your Instagram or whatever. But us, who just want to take a quick snap ourselves can’t do it as you have to wait, which can take long as they take several shots and pauses of the paid customers. The worst are the dirty, smelly, nasty, and unhygeinic toilets at the parks, resorts, waterfalls, beaches, etc. You have to leave your shoes by the door when you eat at Bucafe and everyone had to use one bathroom slipper if you want to use their toilet. How unsanitary. The view is great but as usual, toilet is smelly and nasty, Wherever we went, the TOILETS WERE NASTY!!! CALLING THE ATTENTION OF THE GOVERNOR, MAYORS, and TOURISM OFFICIALS. Please improve your facilities as tourism is the bread and butter of Siquijor.

4.00I thought the tour was expensive but it wasn't until I was collected that I realised that it was very private. Just me. So to have two people - guide and driver - look after you for the day was actually very good value. The day was about ten - eleven hours and we did the full circuit of the island stopping at all the locations. Driver Barry and Guide Je Marie were a delight to spend the day with. I really appreciated Je Marie taking the photos for me. There was a lot of flexibility to the tour so I could spend as much or as little time as i wished in each location, but with Je Marie's advice it was a balanced and fulfilling day.
