This is the best scenery you'll get in a one day tour from Edinburgh. We’ll take you north-west from Edinburgh, making our first stop on the gorgeous banks of Loch Lubnaig, part of the Loch Lomond National Park.
After a drive, there's a short, flat walk to a ruined castle called Kilchurn Castle where you might see some of Scotland's famous Highland Cows.
We'll stop for lunch in the town of Oban, Scotland's seafood capital. You can have a relaxing pub lunch or eat from a rustic but fabulous seafood shack.
In the afternoon, we'll take you to the most famous valley in Scotland - Glencoe. Here, you can join us on an optional walk for 45 minutes. If you don't want to walk, you could take more time in Oban for some shopping, it's up to you.
Finally, we’ll drive you back to your hotel in Edinburgh.

Loch Lubnaig
A photo and comfort break on the banks of the gorgeous Loch Lubnaig in the Loch Lomond National Park
Kilchurn Castle
A short walk out with your guide to this impressive ruined castle. The interior of the castle is currently closed to the public, but the exterior is well worth seeing. There's also a chance of seeing some iconic Highland Cows on your walk.

We are forever grateful and fortunate for the time and passion he gave to teach us about Scotland. 5.00Barney was very knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. We saw many beautiful sites to include a hidden waterfall. Stopped for lunch at Loch Ness. Great pub/restaurant. Whiskey tasting at Tomatin. We all had a grand time.

5.00Barney was amazing. He took us from Edinburgh all the way to Inverness. We stopped at beautiful sites, towns, monuments, and awesome gift shops. He was extremely knowledgeable about Scottish history and was a great story teller. One of my children who isn’t into history was even captivated by his story telling. I could not recommend a better tour guide. I wish he was following us all around Europe. I could not recommend Barney more!

5.00Barry provided our family with the most amazing experience on a day trip to the Highlands. We purchased tickets on the “Harry Potter Express” with absolutely no way to get there and totally underestimating what it actually would take for us to get there on our own. I reached out to Barney and he was happy to help us. Always prompt with his communication, he put together an itinerary and timetable to get us to the train on time. He even drove from Ft. William to meet us in Mallaig so we could skip the return train and spend extra time at scenic points of interest on the way back to Edinburgh. His personal guided tour and historical lessons entertained us on the way up and the way back. We learned so much about Scotland’s history. Our 11 year old son even raved about Barney’s storytelling abilities. In fact, Barney’s tour guide abilities are so good - the ride up and down the Highlands never once felt boring or taxing! Our “long” day didn’t actually feel that long. I cannot recommend Barney enough. Look no further - you will not be disappointed!! Thank you Barney for being so wonderful with our family! You gave us an experience we will not forget.

5.00Barney Norris was a one-day tour guide for us to the Scottish Highlands. Extremely knowledgeable as you might expect from a former history teacher. Was prepared to discuss geography and history the entire trip. Really nice van and everything was on time. When he found out we were Monty Python fans he took us on side excursions to see the castles from the movie. Strong plus recommendation.

5.00Our family of four spent the day with Barney, who modified a full-day tour from Edinburgh in order to drop us in Oban at the end of the day. He was super easy to work with in planning, very helpful and responsive, and the tour day was fantastic. Fun and educational and entertaining all at once. The vehicle is top notch, as are the amenities. Overall we had a comfortable and very fun day, with a few pleasant surprises along the way. And we got much more from the experience than a travel day spent on the train or in a taxi. Thank you Barney and we highly recommend My Scottish Tour!

5.00This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Scotland. We got to see some amazing scenery, some hairy coos, and some very quaint towns. Barney was great and was extremely well versed in Scottish history. He shared many interesting stories en route to the locations. One of the great things he did was to tailor what we were going to do that day because we had already seen some of the things on another tour. I would recommend this tour and really any tour with Barney!

He was very responsive during the reservation process, giving honest feedback on the options available and how they might fit our needs. The day of the tour was easy, and the information provided thorough and entertaining. Our thirteen year-old declared that "Barney was so slay" at the end of the day and ranked our time with him second only to attending a Taylor Swift concert on a review of our two weeks of activities in the UK. While the history of the area is his specialty, Barney was knowledgeable on numerous subjects from industry and geography to the flora and fauna of Scotland and the highlands area.
