What To Expect
On the way to Khinalig (Khinalug) Village, you will be able to stop for the pictures inside of the Qecresh forest. In the forest you will see the local people, they will offer to ride the horse.
State Historical, Architectural and Ethnographic Reserve Khinalig
During Guba & Khinalig Tour we will visit north side of Azerbaijan. First stop will be in Guba city for the Mosques and Carpet Weaving factory - one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan. Special and unique nature & landscape, nice climate and gorgeous fress air - all this you will admire in Guba. After that our route heading to the highest village in Azerbaijan - “ Xinaliq", "Khinalug"; also rendered as Khanaluka, Khanalyk, Khinalykh, or Khynalyk) is an ancient Caucasian village going back to the Caucasian Albanian period. It is located high up in the mountains of Guba Region, Azerbaijan. Khinalig is among the most ancient and continuously inhabited places in the world, with history of over 5,000 years. Because of the high altitude and remoteness of Khinalig it managed to survive and with stand many invasions. Note: This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

5.00Khinaliq was fantastic! Our guide and driver organised an extra driver as the bridge is destroyed and only a Niva can go up. We loved this trip!

5.00We had an amazing tour with guided Azerbaijan to Quba and into the mountains towards Khinalig. We took a private tour with driver and guide that enabled us to tune the itinerary and stop times to our preferences. the weather was perfect and the mountains were white from the first snow that came down a day or 2 before our tour. The tour was organized very well, everything was on time and Ulya the guide and driver were great !!

5.00Just back from an amazing tour to Khinaliq Village, and wow, was it a journey to remember! The trip was thrilling, thanks to our expert driver, Mr. Kamran, who navigated the mountain roads with such professionalism, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout. Our tour guide, Ms. Senuber, was incredibly helpful, enriching the experience with her knowledge and kindness. Having lunch with the locals in the village was more than just a meal; it was an immersion into the rich culture and traditions of Khinaliq. The warmth and hospitality of the villagers were heartwarming, and the food was simply delicious authentic flavors that you can't find anywhere else. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.

5.00We had booked a weeklong trip with Guided Azerbaijan and planned several excursions with them. We had particularly outstanding service from Lamia in planning our trip and with our driver, Tahir, who was with us the entire time. While we did not do this exact tour outlined here, we instead planned a customized half day trip to Quba and to the beautiful Candy Cane Mountains. Unfortunately, our guide became sick, but we could still go ahead with the driver, who was so helpful, and Guided Azerbaijan was very responsive and refunded the cost of the guide. We had an especially fun time visiting the carpet making center. We were shown how the carpets are made and allowed to try ourselves. We did not leave without making a purchase of a stunning silk rug that we will cherish.

5.00Nice trip. Majestic landscapes of Caucasus! The Khinalig village left very dual feeling of being unique place but very neglected one... Thank you Guided Azerbaijan for patience arranging and rearranging our trip! Due to some reasons our schedule changed several times, but the guys managed to rearrange things even the very last minute.

5.00We had a private family full day Guba and Khinalig tour organised by Guided Azerbaijan. The driver and guide arrived on time to our hotel. The minivan was nice, clean and comfortable. We saw many interesting sights such as Khinalig Village 2350m, Qacrash forest, Juma mosque, Carpet Weaving factory, Guba Memorial Complex and Red Village - Jewish Settlement. Thanks for organising this great tour! I really recommend the tour with Guided Azerbaijan!

5.00It was a wonderful place to visit and the village is the highest residential area in azerbaijan. The route to get there is just so scenic surrounded by picturesque mountains. 4.00Great tour. Communication was super right from the get go. Met our guide outside our hotel with the driver. Naira our guide was really good and kept us informed along the way and took us to some of the most beautiful sites. Taking off one star because we felt like the driving was a bit rash on the way back and there was no defined stop or set time for lunch.

4.00Enjoyed our tour with Nurlan as our guide and Jamal as our driver. We learned a lot about the country and the area we visited. Jamal did a great job driving up to Khinalig and back. One drawback was that the back windows of the car were heavily tinted. Difficult to see the scenery without rolling down the windows which were manual and not easy to roll. In Khinalig, we climbed up to the top of the hill with the cell tower — great views, but the guide should have stayed near us as we climbed up and down since both of us are in our 70s. Enjoyed seeing the mosque and Jewish area of Guba. We elected not to go to the Genocide Memorial as it was getting late in the day.
