Embark on the ultimate cultural journey as we take you through northern and western Qatar, regions rich in history and breathtaking landscapes. Begin at Al Khor’s harbor, once the country’s hub for pearl diving and fishing, before passing through Al Thakira to see its lush mangroves. Discover the iconic Al Zubarah Fort, Qatar’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore a traditional Qatari village built from limestone and mud. At Al Shamal, enjoy panoramic views where Bahrain is visible on clear days. Continue to the west coast and visit the 18th-century Zekreet Fort, surrounded by striking desert scenery. Capture the famous umbrella-shaped rock, a natural wonder and photographer’s favorite. Finally, explore the Zekreet Peninsula, home to unique limestone formations and a protected wildlife reserve. Al Khor
Also spelled Al Khawr means "sea on threesides" in Arabic. Older than Doha but far smaller in size. Al Khor is located an easy 50 kilometres to the north of Doha. It used to be the center of the pearling industry in Qatar but lost its importance after the introduction of cultured pearls. It now boasts a scenic harbour where you can find traditional fishing dhows, a corniche leading to mangrove colonies and a museum showcasing the fishing, pearling and dhow building industries.
Al Thakhira Beach
The mangroves colony is not only a major tourism product for Qatar but an important natural environmental resource for Qatar. It provides a natural habitat and a sanctuary for birds, fish and other animals as well as prevent coastal erosion.

Nice day trip that offers you many impressions of Qatar. Our guide Abdullah told us a lot and showed us... you sit in the car a lot, get to see a lot and get off at the individual sights again and again.... We were driven safely, picked up on time and returned

A lovely day exploring the country outside Doha. Our guide Abdul Rehman was a good driver , friendly, helpful & knowledgeable about the places we visited. He made sure we had plenty of time to explore each stop and had time to take photographs. A very informative day out.

Our guide Hassan was kind but had minimal knowledge of Qatar. When we stopped he visited with his friend Abdul and didn’t talk with us. In the car he talked on the phone with Abdul. He told us incorrect information or admitted he didn’t know the answers. I talked with a woman who went on this tour with another company and she said her guide was so knowledgeable. I felt cheated.

We had an amazing tour with Suleiman as our driver exploring West Qatar. We saw the camel track, the mushroom rock formations, the west and east towers and then finally watched the sunset at Zerkreet beach. It was a lovely experience and huge thank you to Suleiman for his kind hospitality and being a wonderful guide and driver. Thank you for taking the lovely pictures for us too. A few of them are below. Huge thank you once again for a memorable experience.

Good cross-section of Qatari-historical sites outside of Doha. Guide Adnan passionately shared his love for the country and fostered dialogue between his guests with humor and patience, enabling each guest to make the experience uniquely their own.
