Excellent tour and even better guide. 2 hours walking around York on a quiet Sunday evening listening to the stories and sagas of old, each tale being represented by a different location within the nooks and crannies of the city made it even more immersive. Thoroughly recommended, couldn’t rate it any higher if I tried.

This tour manages to combine two of my favourite things when travelling - getting to see all the highlights of a beautiful historical city, and being told mythological and historical stories! I attended with a group of friends and our tour host was the lovely Helga the Skald - she was funny and engaging, and getting the group involved! The trip ending at Valhalla with a cheeky little discount was a nice bonus as well :) Highly recommend!

Booked tour four 5 of us 3 adults and 2 children. We met our guide outside Fairfax House and was quickly engaged in history, sagas and giggles. As this was a new tour we were a small intimate group of about 10 people but I can see this tour becoming very popular and gain more of a crowd with the passion and enthusiasm of the guides. Ended at Valhalla bar where we received a 10% discount on our first round of drinks. The tour was interactive and fun for all the family. The pace of the walk was great and we enjoyed every minute. The guide was able to engage the four year old and allowed him to stand beside them as they delivered their dialogue. We would highly recommend this walking tour for family fun and adventure.

Booked myself and family onto this Viking Walking tour for 4pm last Saturday whilst we were up in York for a weekend. The pace was perfect, even for our 2 year old, our Viking guide ‘Agnar’ made sure everyone was together and was very knowledgeable and engaging, giving extra Viking facts as we moved between ‘the realms’. Found it to be a highly entertaining, enjoyable and family friendly activity. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for an activity in York.
