Tour Experience Review Tour Date: May 23, 2026, 9:15 am – 3:15 pm Operating Company: Trading name: Max Charters Legal name: MAXIMIZE PARADISE, LLC Address: American Yacht Harbor, 6100 Red Hook Quarters, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, 00802, VI Phone: +18602154050 Email: [email protected] Business registration number: TN0127013 Overall Experience Our Captain was outstanding, very outgoing, friendly, and equipped with a wonderful sense of humor! Sadly, the 2nd mate lacked professionalism, was at times disrespectful to the Captain and guests, and shared information that turned out to be inaccurate. Food Review Only liquor and beer were available (no soda, water, or juice offered). Snacks consisted of cut fruit, but because the main table wasn't set up, the plate fell to the deck, and the 2nd mate threw the majority of it overboard. Lunch was undercooked grilled chicken and macaroni salad. The 2nd mate cleared the now open main deck table and quickly dumped the leftovers into the sea without asking if anyone wanted more. Safety As a retired U.S. Navy Veteran (Honorably and served for 20 years), I am very passionate about maritime safety, and I was quite worried by what I saw on this tour. Lines were left in disarray on the deck, creating a tripping hazard. I tried to kindly help by properly faking the lines on the bow, but the crew did not follow suit. Furthermore, lifelines were left detached after snorkeling, and no visual watch was kept on swimmers in the water (Captain had to launch the small boat to verify if guests were safe or needed a ride back to boat). The main cabin was also highly unkempt, with unsecured tools and a broken table that posed an injury risk. Squall Storm and Injuries The most concerning part of the trip was an unbriefed and warned squall. We were not warned about the weather! When the storm hit, the boat listed to 45 degrees, and the starboard windows went fully underwater. Two guests in my party were thrown across the cabin, sustaining severe bruises to their head, chest, arm, and foot. Instead of treating this as a serious safety incident, the crew brushed it off as "part of the adventure." Final Thoughts I share this review because I care about the safety of future guests. I strongly advise anyone looking to book this tour to check the weather independently and verify the crew's U.S. Coast Guard credentials. Due to the significant safety hazards and lack of professional seamanship, I would not recommend this operating company, sailboat or crew! https://www.viator.com/tours/St-Thomas/Full-Day-Sail-Snorkel-Virgin-Islands-National-Park/d965-216138P3?m=61408&nid=VR.6fdd20ec-5195-4e95-9d59-e663b177c96c.VT_EMAIL_T

Great day on the water with Capt. Matt and Bradley. Great boat and crew. Had a nice breeze so lovely sailing (and rain) to first snorkeling spot - sea turtles and pretty fish - second spot had two rays - tasty lunch and great sail back. Learned a lot and had one of the best days on our three day St Thomas visit. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent experience! If you want to feel like you have a private charter without paying for a private charter, this is it! Captain TC and first mate Brad were attentive, fun, and kept the cruise lively. The snorkeling was great! We saw lots of tropical fish, rays, and got up close and personal with sea turtles. I highly recommend this trip!

Matt and Bradley were excellent and attended to all our needs. They also are just lovely people who made the trip memorable by being themselves. We had a great day on the water snorkeling- we saw sea turtles and lots of fish. The lunch was also awesome and on point. Can't say enough great things about our trip - we will be back and will do it again!

We had a wonderful sailing, snorkeling experience! Captain Kendall and Casey are experts in sailing and hosting. Attention to both safety and having a memorable day! Plenty of drinks and snacks of all kinds, including A charcuterie board of crackers, cheese and fresh fruit. Lunch was delicious; chicken grilled by the captain while Casey guided a group of us snorkeling. Their knowledge of the area was impressive even to the exact location of the ocean home of a weathered pufferfish. While snorkeling we saw colorful fish, sting rays, turtles and an octopus! Underwater terrain itself was fascinating. Captain Kendall and Casey were very knowledgeable about the islands and their histories, freely conversing and answering questions throughout our journey! Highly recommend!!!

Our captain, Tim, and first mate, Sharon, made this cruise very special. Although we had done rough weather in the beginning, they found other destinations with less onerous conditions and we had an incredible snorkel adventure. Gracious hosts with great personalities they found the turtles and the manta rays and saved the day! Highly recommend for a first class experience.

The entire excursion was fantastic. Food, company, captain Bob and first mate/chef, KC. KC went with us snorkeling and we saw some cool things because of her especially in Christmas cove. Will book again.
