Bodega LAUS

Bodega LAUS was founded in 2002. The winery is like an “island in Somontano”, surrounded by water, vineyards, flowers, sun, air... and life. LAUS comes from Latin and means “Praise, congratulations, consideration”. It is a name that perfectly reflects the spirit of this Somontano winery. The logo represents the earth in I Ching symbolism and represents our essence, the territory, the soil on which our vineyard stands. We will visit the Winery in a guided tour and then we will taste 3 of its major wines, accompanied by a local snacks

Castillo de Alquezar

Our guide will accompany you through the town of Alquezar and we will visit the Castle and collegiate church of Santa Maria La Mayor. Built in the ninth century AD. C. by Khalaf ibn Rasid to stop the Christian kingdoms of the north. Around 1067, it was conquered by Sancho Ramírez, son of Ramiro I, and became a Christian fortress called "Castrum Alqueçaris". As the process of the Reconquest progresses towards Barbastro or Huesca, this fortress loses its military and strategic importance and becomes a religious institution. It is in 1099 when Sancho Ramírez decides to endow Alquézar with a community of Augustinian canons. To do this, he built a Romanesque collegiate church that would be replaced in the 16th century AD. C. for another late Gothic and of which only the atrium with historiated capitals is preserved. In the fourteenth century AD C. the Gothic cloister was built but in a style close to Romanesque. In the first half of the sixteenth century AD. C. the current Collegiate

Our guide Marta made this day amazing! She was knowledgeable, articulate, friendly and accommodated all our needs. We really enjoyed the Somontano wine experience and learnt so much about wine production and the region. Alquezar was amazing. A unique historical town and lunch was the best we have had in Spain. We thoroughly recommend this trip.

  • A Somontano Wine Festival worthy of a film. In 2025, from July 31st to August 3rd, its 25th Anniversary will be celebrated!

  • Great day trip!

Our Somontano Wine Excursion and Alquezar day trip was the second of two private day trips with this company, both with Marta. The one winery visit was really enjoyable and the guide there was really fun and knowledgeable despite her youth. Alquezar was breathtaking and the lunch there truly memorable. Marta is a delight and we felt like we were on an fun adventure with a trusted friend. There is more to do and see in and around Zaragoza than you might think and you should do them with these folks.

Unmissable buildings such as the SEO (Cathedral), the Basilica del Pilar, the many museums, the Palace of Aljaferia (fortress with Mudejar accents), the Roman ruins, the Pilar Square, the "Tubo" district, in the casco viejo where you can feast in tapas bars (tapas and rationes from another world because excellent and inexpensive), its gastronomy in general (Argonese specialities and wines). Everything is to be discovered.

  • It was the best trip we have ever had.

Jorge and Pablo led us into the unknown. We learned how to make wine while looking at the vineyards and then were taught wine tasting. Alquezar is an old town where time seems to have stopped, and we had a wonderful time there. It was the best trip we have ever had.

  • Magical day filled with good wine and good company.

Our guide Jorge was wonderful! He was knowledgeable on food, wine and history of the area. Jorge picked us up at our hotel on time, after a short drive we arrived at a small organic winery to do tastings, we proceeded to Alquezar and visited the town and the castle, and ate a wonderful lunch with local food with Jorge’s guidance. The drive had many great views and the entire day was magical. I highly recommend this tour and any tours by Jorge and Rutica 41. Thank you!

Interested in learning more about the gastronomy and wines in Aragon we decided to take this excursion that we enjoyed very much with our guide Jorge. Very punctual and pleasant, Jorge took us to the Somontanos region to the Luas winery. Excellent selection on your part because the visit was very interesting, our hostess in the winery made us an excellent tour and the excellent wine face. Then Jorge took us to visit the town of Alquézar and the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria. Included in the excursion was lunch at the Restaurant Casa Pardina, where we could taste products from the region. Our experience was excellent and we highly recommend Jorge and his gastronomic excursions.
