For lots of fun under the sun, you can't beat a day at South Sea Island. Approx 30 minute ferry ride from Port Denarau.

It may be small in size, but there is plenty to keep you entertained. The hardest part is choosing what to do first! There is a salt water swimming pool and FREE use of non-motorized water sports equipment, including kayaking and sailing. Discover the underwater world with hours of snorkelling or jump on board the semi-submersible coral viewer.

A tasty BBQ buffet lunch, beer, wine and soft drinks are included while ashore.

Although the island is uninhabited, you can still get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday.

Diving (additional cost). Diving in this area you can encounter drop offs and wall dives with lots of hard corals, crystal clear water & large schools of pelagic fish.

You must contact South Sea Cruises at least 24 hours before your activity date to arrange Transport. Use the contact details on this voucher. Upon check in please present your confirmation or voucher in exchange for your tour boarding pass

Please be ready and waiting in your hotel lobby or pick up location 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pick up time

If you do not require pick up, please find your own way to the meeting point - Passenger Terminal, Denarau Marina

The boat for Nadi and Denarau area customers departs Port Denarau at 9.00am and returns to Denarau at 6.00pm.

The boat for Coral Coast area customers departs Port Denarau at 10.00am and returns to Denarau at 5.00pm

In the event of adverse weather and sea conditions, we retain the right to cancel all water-based activities, including snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and the Subsea Adventure in our semi-submersible.

Please bring swimsuit, towel, protective clothing from the sun including a hat and sunblock, light jacket or sweater during the cooler months, money or credit card for optional purchases, your camera and sense of fun!

What To Expect

South Sea Cruises

For lots of fun under the sun, you can't beat a day at South Sea Island. A day trip to South Sea Island is an easy 30 minute ferry ride from Denarau Marina with South Sea Cruises. It may be small in size, but there is plenty to keep you entertained. The hardest part is choosing what to do first! There is a salt water swimming pool and FREE use of non-motorized water sports equipment, including kayaking and sailing. Discover the underwater world with hours of snorkelling or if you want to stay dry, jump on board the semi-submersible coral viewer. Make sure you keep an eye out for Nemo! A tasty BBQ buffet lunch and beer, wine and soft drinks are included while ashore. Although the island is uninhabited, you can still get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday. Introductory diving (additional cost) is a particular focus on this island with pretty reef formations and plentiful fish making it a first time diver's dream. Start in the pool and then explore the stunning coral gardens and the fish life surrounding the island on a 'Discover Scuba' intro dive. There is also plenty to keep certified divers amused, with several beach dives and a purposefully sunk shipwreck. Diving in this area you can encounter drop offs and wall dives with lots of hard corals, crystal clear water & large schools of pelagic fish.

Amazing day. The island was beautiful and the people very nice. Ifyou have kids it's perfect. If you have never scuba dived they offer an introduction. Great for families.

Family friendly and disabled friendly place with awesome staff and great vibes. Affordable Full day cruises, 11/10!!! We wished it was longer since we went with our whole family, but it was fun, short and sweet. Vinaka south sea island family for the True Fijian Hospitality you showed the Raiwako Family. Definitely an experience to remember.
Highly recommend trip to South Sea Island.

Lunch in included and drinks all included, great seating under shade loved it, snorkelling was cool and semi submerged boat so cool. 1 downside causing the 4 star was I bought ice creams the money went out of my account but said declined on the machine, the staff member was a little rude, and just made me pay again, from looking in my bank account looks like it got sorted but was a strange situation that I’ve never had. Other than that was fantastic! Some snacks/afternoon tea would have been nice but thank you so much for the day!
Scuba Diving was great, the rest of the day felt like a timed tour (missed shuttle)

Not at all a liesurely day. The fast boat ride gets you to the island, you get on tenders to get from the boat to the beach, and then immediately get a schedule briefing. The first semi-submersible tour happens straight away, then it's straight to lunch, and then scuba diving if you want to. Be careful, the scuba diving made us miss our boat (even though it's all the same company) and that caaused us to miss our transfer back to the hotel. They did end up providing a free shuttle, but it was complicated and confusing. All in all the scuba diving was amazing, but the rest of the day felt like a tour with no time to relax.

The trip over was uneventful but crowded. The island itself was over crowded. The food was very ordinary. Soggy salads, tasteless garlic bread, plastic sausages. They ran out of fruit. The snorkelling was also disappointing. We saw plenty of fish but the coral was very damaged. I don’t think the island is sustainably managed. They forgot to tell us when our boat was arriving so there was a mad panic to pack up when it arrived.

Communication for access, directions, schedule etc was great! We thoroughly enjoyed our day out, the boat ride was quick but enjoyable spending the day on a private Island was fantastic, lunch was a tasty BBQ and salads, drinks were flowing, sun was shining, the water was perfect and to top it off had a massage which was wonderful, highly recommend! Staff were all accommodating and helpful, such beautiful people, look forward to repeating this trip, perfect way to relax!
