This tour was a perfect adventure into culture and history. Our guide in El Salvador, Josue, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the region. He provided us all of the information we needed for the border crossings a day in advance so I felt well prepared. We even made an additional stop in the town of Santa Ana to see a beautiful cathedral and theater on the way back. Our guide in Honduras, Gladys was brilliant about the historic site of Copan. She explained everything we saw and was extremely patient the entire time when we wanted to take photos or ask questions. This was an absolutely amazing tour. It was extremely well run and very professional. Josue kept everything running smoothly and made sure we made it through seven border crossings without issue. I felt like we had plenty of time at Copan and did not feel rushed, even though it was an extremely long day for all of the guides. I highly recommend this tour. It is a true adventure led by expert guides!!

It's a long day departing at approximate 04:40 and not returning back until around 19:00 - 20:00 (subject to traffic conditions) so you should bear that in mind prior to booking. Please also take into consideration that the travel company will only proceed with this tour if there are a minimum of two passengers. UK citizens need a visa to travel.into Honduras. An interesting insight into the history of the Maya people and how they used to live.

I went with my mom from Argentina and the tour was amazing, our driver David, a genius! The only thing to highlight that I did not like, was that in honduras they asked me for the yellow fever certificate and from the company they did not warn me that they could ask for it! They held me in migration in slingshots until I managed to find a photo. And finally the local guide of the ruins of Copán showed terrible attention to us, explaining without desire! The rest of us loved it!

  • Great full-day experience.

It’s a full day (15 hours) but worth the time. David picked me up on time, and I met the four other Americans going with me. Loved driving through El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Cotopan tour was great with a knowledgeable guide. Fascinating ruins. Then a good lunch at a nice Honduran restaurant. The whole day was great. One warning (or selling point) you’re going to get a bunch of passport stamps (6-8 depending on the border guards) so if your passport is getting full, be warned.

It’s a long day but very worthwhile to see and learn about Copán. David was an amazing driver and was invaluable getting through the boarder crossing for Guatemala and Honduras!! I had a great time!
