Experience the upper Kenai river on an 8 hour full-day guided fishing trip in 20 foot custom drift boats sometimes stopping in the best places to do some Kenai River wade fishing from shore.

Fly fishing and spin fishing in small groups provides a personalized experience with your seasoned local guide/instructor Mike Adams. Enjoy the Chugach National Forest and/or the upper Kenai National Wildlife Refuge with the chance of seeing the local wildlife that abounds here.

Fishing on the upper Kenai River is an unparalleled experience. Fishing for native Kenai River rainbow trout and dolly varden char is an excellent choice. Cooper Landing salmon fishing is also fantastic during our two Kenai River sockeye salmon runs and our two silver salmon runs.

Recommend you bring warm layered clothing, wool or synthetic socks, waders (please note: felt soles are no longer allowed in Alaska), two piece rain suit, camera, sun tan lotion, polarized sunglasses, hearty lunch, and water or other beverages

What To Expect

Personalized guided fishing trip on the Upper Kenai River. Drift the upper Kenai river with a local professional guide. This beautiful stretch of water is nestled between the peaks of the majestic Kenai Mountains in exclusively permitted areas of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and the Chugach National Forest. We will fish for native Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden char or the seasonal runs of Sockeye and Silver Salmon. The abundant flora and fauna offer a glimpse of Alaska's natural beauty and wildlife sightings are common. Trout and char are catch and release. Salmon have seasonal limits and cleaning of your catch is complimentary.

My son and I fished with Mike Adams on the Kenai. He is the principle guide/owner of Alaskan Angling Adventures, LLC. We had a wonderful day of fishing. Mike is a reliable professional guide who is knowledgeable and knows how to catch fish! He is also a conservationist, supporting organizations such as Trout Unlimited.

My daughter and i had an incredible three days of fishing. Mike was so patient with us. Showed us what to do had all the right equipment. Took us out early to avoid the crowds. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend . We did three days of fishing. Two on the river and a flyout trip for catch and release and it again was just awesome.

Mike is excellent. We came to Alaska when the salmon were not running. He took our family of four on the river and got us all into fish. We caught trout and salmon and had a wonderful time. He worked with each person, we all have different fishing experience, and everyone caught a salmon. He even arranged for the local wildlife to show up!

Mike is the best! His knowledge of the River and the ability to adjust to hit the right spots and use the right technique to catch big rainbows is one of a kind. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and will do it again next time. He provided great tips for catching big fish and supplied plenty of good conversation as we enjoyed the day can’t go wrong with booking this trip.

My Brother and I booked a day trip with Mike. We had never river fished for Salmon. Mike was a great teacher and got us on the fish. It was a great day and check mark on our bucket list. Highly recommend Mike if you want to catch fish. He was very informative during the trip. He was very knowledgeable about Alaska and fishing.

This was my and my sons first time salmon fishing and our guide Mike was beyond outstanding.. not only did he teach us how to fly fish but knew all the best spots on the river . He’s also very knowledgeable and happy to share wildlife information ( my son must’ve asked him 1000 questions lol) and he answered every one … hit our limit with time to spare.. I highly recommend Mike as a fishing guide and would ( and just might) book another trip with him

Mike once again put us on the Sockeye. The 3 of us limited by 930am. All 7 trips over the years, Mike had limited us out. Looking forward to Mid-September Canyon drift for all day long action on Rainbows and Dolly Vardens.

We had never fly fished before, and Mike made the entire experience fun and memorable. Before the trip, he was very helpful—calling and emailing me to answer all my questions and making the whole process easy from the start. Out on the river, Mike was patient, encouraging, and clearly passionate about being a guide. He genuinely enjoys teaching and was just as excited as we were with every catch. We had such a great time and can’t wait to come back—we’ll definitely be booking with Mike again. Highly recommend, especially if you’re trying fly fishing for the first time!

Best choice for a guided day trip. Mike was very patient with us beginners and was a great teacher. This was definitely the highlight of our trip. He knows his stuff! We caught fish nonstop, and while Mike is humble and chalks it up to a bit of "good luck" that day, we believe it's all owed to his superior expertise. 100% would chose Alaska Angling Adventures LLC again and again.

We always love our summer fishing trips on the Kenai with Alaskan Angling Adventures! We always catch fish, seems like we always learn something new, see a lot of wildlife, and have so much fun!
