Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park
GARUDA WISNU KENCANA Cultural Park is a +/- 60ha area of cultural park located in Ungasan, Badung Regency. GWK Cultural Park offers a lavish Indonesian cultural heritage for years to come with the upcoming monumental Garuda Wisnu Kencana Statue as the Indonesian Icon of civilization, the number one cultural icon in Bali. Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is the symbol of God Vishnu riding the great Garuda as his trusted companion. The statue is designed to be one of the world’s largest and highest monumental statue in the world. Total height of the statue is 120m, consists of 24 segments and formed with 754 modules made of copper and brass coated patina acid.
Uluwatu Temple
The Uluwatu temple is built at the edge (ulu) of a 70-meter-high (230 ft) cliff or rock (watu) projecting into the sea. In folklore, this rock is said to be part of Dewi Danu's petrified barque. This temple is inhabited by monkey. Though a small temple was claimed to have existed earlier, the structure was significantly expanded by a Javanese sage, Empu Kuturan in the 11th Century. Another sage from East Java, Dang Hyang Nirartha is credited for constructing the padmasana shrines and it is said that he attained moksha here, an event called ngeluhur ("to go up") locally. This has resulted in the temple's epithet Luhur

Gwk was good, but plan keeping in view the heat and timing of the day. Kecak dance was native , cultural but they were seating 2000 people in a place that could barely accomodate 1000.

Our driver was lovely and promptly picked us up however he struggled to speak and understand English as promised by the tour. We weren’t given any water as promised as well. The tour didn’t mention that there were additional charges for the Kecak Dance either. The way the tour is stated it’s included but it isn’t. The driver was confused about where to park for the GWK and organising the tickets as well. As for the Kecak Fire Dance. If we had known in advance that we needed to prebuy tickets online to make for a quicker and seamless experience we would have. Because this wasn’t communicated to us the driver waited in the cash purchase line and missed out on getting the sunset Kecak Fire Dance which meant we then had to wait until 7pm at night to see it which was the second sitting. There aren’t any stalls to buy meals from so by the time we were seated into the amphitheater almost 25 mins after it’s start time it finished at 8.30pm. The tour had stated we would be arriving back at our hotel by 8pm. However due to the delayed performance, we were left hungry and tired and a bit over the whole experience. The driver decided to take us to beach spot new the airport for a very late meal however the restaurant was extremely expensive and cost us $96 for 10 king prawns and 2 cocktails. I feel this tour needs to be better organised to allow for a much better experience.

Tour was great. Ilhan was our driver and the only issue was at the fire dance he went to purchase the tickets and gave us the information sheet about the show but as we found out when we got to the front of the line to enter we thought the information sheet was our ticket but was not as the person taking tickets said he needed our tickets. A few minutes later he came up with the tickets explaining he had gone to the bathroom. Why were we not given the tickets when we got in line. Anyway the show was great!! Although too many people for the amphitheater.
