What To Expect
Giron
This is a day full of contrasts. We start our day driving through the ever green and rich ranchland of the Tarqui Valley. The first stop will be at one of the most important historical places of the independence battles. From here you will be able to appreciate the beautiful Andes landscape. Next, we will reach the waterfalls of El Chorro de Giron, an amazing area of cloud forest covered in bromeliads, orchids and soft green moss. Here, you will hike through the lush vegetation to reach the cascades, a 250 foot high waterfall.
Laguna de Busa
Then we will driver to Busa lake where we will do a short hike around the rim where you will be able to enjoy the beautiful views. We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant and return to Cuenca.

3.00The first location, Giron falls was great. The second location, Busa Lake was not worth the drive. Apparently it's only really used on weekends. When we arrived on the Monday there was construction happening all through the parking lot (it was hard to get through to actually park) and honestly there was not really much of anything to see aside from a very small lake. We were there for a total of about 10 minutes. The driver was not the best -- he spent a considerable amount of time texting on his mobile phone while driving through mountain roads. He was also VERY interested in my female companion but barely said a word to me (a male). Not to the point of being creepy but not far off. In previous tours I have had drivers that were full of knowledge and seeming to enjoy telling you this information. This driver honestly seemed like he had other things to do. At one point he at least actually pulled over to take a phone call for a few minutes. I wouldn't do this trip again.

5.00We had a great day with Adrian. He took great care of us, passed along a lot of great information, and got us safely from place to place. The tour itself was awesome. Both the waterfall and the lake were amazing, but just spending a day seeing the Ecuadorian countryside was the real highlight. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. If you have a chance, spend a day with Adrian on this tour. You won’t regret it.

5.00Our tour guide Andres was great, our driver Steven was very good and we had a wonderful time exploring the waterfalls in Chorros Giron and Chardelay. They were both informative, helpful, flexible and provided excellent information. I definitely recommend agency for Cuenca and any other areas of Ecuador.
