We had such a great time at Morimi's cooking class at her beautiful home. This experience was definetely a highlight of our trip to Tokyo. The food was very delicious. We had amazing kyozas and great karaage and salad with delicious dressing and the best mochis ever as a dessert. Morimi had written very clear recipies for us in English to take home, and we cannot wait to prepare these traditional japanese treats again at our home! Everything was gluten-free and very tasty. We can recommend this cooking class to everyone, whether you have a gluten-free diet or not. Morimi is such a warm person and an excellent cook. We are so happy that we decided to take this cooking class. Thanks Morimi! Best wishes, Sofia and Niko from Finland

We had the most incredible experience at Morimi’s Home Kitchen. It ended up being one of the true highlights of our trip. From the moment we walked in, she created such a warm, welcoming space — especially for our son, who was recently diagnosed with celiac. The comfort, care, and confidence she gave him throughout the class meant more to us than she’ll ever know. Every dish was completely gluten-free, absolutely delicious, and thoughtfully explained. She didn’t just teach us how to make each recipe — she shared the history, the techniques, and the “why” behind every step. It felt personal, authentic, and truly hands-on. And honestly? Sitting together and savoring every single thing we made was the best part of all. If you’re visiting Japan, this class is an absolute must. A beautiful experience from start to finish.

I have a wheat allergy, so I was a bit nervous about joining a Japanese cooking class, but this class exceeded all my expectations. Before the lesson, the instructor carefully asked about my allergy and made thoughtful adjustments, including using gluten-free soy sauce and seasonings, so I felt completely safe throughout the experience. What impressed me most was that the dishes were not just “substitutes.” They truly captured the authentic flavors and presentation of Japanese cuisine, and I would never have guessed the food was gluten-free. The instructor explains everything clearly in English and also shares a lot about Japanese food culture, which made the class both educational and enjoyable. This is a wonderful cooking class for anyone with a wheat allergy or who needs gluten-free options, yet still wants to experience real Japanese cooking. Safe, authentic, and delicious — I highly recommend it.

I joined this class with a friend, and it was truly a memorable and wonderful experience. Morimi is such a warm and kind instructor, and we were able to learn in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout the class. We learned many practical things, such as the principles of gluten-free cooking and how to check ingredient labels in everyday life. Every dish was absolutely delicious, but what left the strongest impression on me was discovering Shira-ae for the first time. I had never tasted it before, and I was deeply moved by its gentle and comforting flavor. Encountering a new Japanese home-style dish was truly a special and joyful discovery. The venue was clean and well organized, which made us feel completely comfortable. This experience offered not only cooking skills, but also a chance to connect with Japanese food culture and warm hospitality. It was truly valuable, and I would love to join again!

I have celiac & our whole family enjoys cooking. Morimi was incredibly kind, welcoming, knowledgeable & enjoyable to learn from. Her English is very good although she worried it wasn’t! The food was amazing! And there was so much of it, we were very full when we left. She was a restaurant chef & it shows in her technique, yet she was patient showing us how to make intricate things. As a celiac, I felt completely safe with her knowledge & care to keep me safe. I didn’t get sick & our whole family noticed how good we felt even though we clearly over-ate. We would absolutely recommend going to her class.

I joined Morimi-san’s gluten-free cooking class with my Italian friend who has a gluten allergy, and it was such a wonderful experience. I discovered that Japanese cuisine can be an excellent choice for people avoiding gluten. We learned how to make some of the most popular Japanese dishes—even well-known in Italy—such as karaage (Japanese fried chicken), tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), tofu-based dishes, and fresh salads. Along the way, Morimi-san shared helpful tips, and we got to enjoy tasting everything we made. The dishes were not only gluten-free but also truly delicious, and the class left us completely satisfied. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in tasty, healthy, and gluten-free Japanese cooking.

I found that Japanese cuisine is wonderfully suited for a gluten-free diet. The instructor explained everything with great care, and even as someone who isn’t very skilled at cooking, I was able to prepare delicious dishes. I also received the recipes, so I’m looking forward to recreating them at home.
