Poznan is one of Poland’s hidden treasures, often overlooked by visitors to the country. On this walking tour, I’ll share fascinating stories about its turbulent history, give you the inside scoop on all the goats you’ll see, and introduce you to the city’s highlights.
Starting in Wolności Square (Liberty Square), this tour will lead you around the historic part of the city. I’ll show you beautiful renaissance and baroque buildings from the 1800s and 1900s. While you soak up the architectural marvels, I’ll point out a few tell-tale signs of the clash between the Germans and the Polish their facade. You’ll get a chance to explore one of the city’s most prominent landmarks, Stary Rynek (the Old Market Square).
By the end of this Poznan tour, you’ll have explored the city’s major landmarks, rich past, culinary traditions, and walk away with some little-known and fascinating stories in your pocket.

We’ve never done a self-guided tour like this. It worked out very nicely. It’s a little clunky to get going, you need to download an app, but once it started it was easy to use. Biggest plus is, you can stop and shop/eat/take a museum tour whenever you want. We’re not big on the private tours, we feel a little funny with one person walking just us around, and Poznan did not have any group tours or tour buses, so this was a great alternative. We saw all the main sites with good explanations about each. We also replayed the remarks on certain stops. Would definitely do this type of touring again
