A romantic day on the south shore of the Black Sea coast to one of the oldest destinations in Europe – Nessebar.
Nessebar is one of the fewest places on Earth, where you can find an Ancient Rome fortress and at the same time feel the breeze, coming from the sea nearby. The Roman Baths, the stone amphitheatre and the 40 ancient Christian churches are just part of the historical sightseeing spots, which pull like magnet towards the place.
Situated on a rocky peninsula on the Black Sea, the more than 3,000-year-old site was originally a Thracian settlement. The Ancient City of Nessebar is an outstanding testimony of multilayered cultural and historical heritage under the auspices of UNESCO. The medieval religious architecture, modified by the imposition of the traditional Byzantine forms, illustrates ornamental ceramics art, the characteristic painted decoration for this age. The town has served for over thousands of years as a remarkable spiritual hearth of Christian culture.

Since our hotel was located at Golden Sands and Nessebar is in the south, the journey is time-consuming. One should definitely book a seat in a minibus, which is 10 EURO more expensive, but saves a lot of time. The tour guide provided comprehensive information and responded well to customer requests. The small streets are cobblestone, so one should wear comfortable footwear. Definitely try one of the small cafés.
