Discover the charm of southern Beaujolais, often called the "Tuscany of France," with its rolling hills and picturesque hilltop villages made of golden stone. Just north of Lyon, this lush, hilly region is known for its famed Beaujolais Nouveau and golden-stone architecture.
Join our driver-guide for a cultural and gourmet adventure, including an introduction to wine and a tasting session with a local winemaker.
Travel through scenic landscapes where villages glow in warm golden stones. Enjoy a wine-tasting session amid the vineyards, savoring two distinct wines paired with a local pastry, while learning about the “terroir” that makes each wine unique.
Visit Oingt, a 12th-century village listed as one of France’s Most Beautiful Villages, and stroll its medieval streets. End your tour at a family-owned winery where the friendly winemaker shares his craft and offers a tasting with a traditional Lyon “mâchon” of local cold meats and cheeses.

Beautiful ride northwest out of Lyon into the vineyard area. Relaxing visit to the town of Oignt. Sampled wines at a nice overlook of the Beaujolis area. Also sampled wines at the Guilliard family winery. Met the 11th generation owner and learned how they have produced winw for centuries. Great afternoon to an area we would never had visited otherwise.

Until this tour, I knew little about the Beaujolais region wines in France. I knew I loved the wines from the region but did not know they are produced using the Gamay grape. This wonderful grape produces the best fruity young red wines due to its low tannins. The flavor profile is simply amazing. A visit is a must. This tour takes you on a journey into Beaujolais where you are treated to wines tastings, tour of a medieval city and learn about wine making. It ranks no 1 on my list. I had so much fun.

This wine tour was marvelous. The Beaujolais Region is stunning and the wine was plentiful. We were a small group which made it easy to talk and share experiences. Our guides Clotilde and Clemence were personable and fun. We got to explore an area and small village that looked like golden stones. The visit to the wiBert was exceptional and we met the owner. It is interesting to see how wine is made and to explore the entire process. Do not miss this experience.
