Discover the charm of southern Beaujolais, often called the "Tuscany of France," with its rolling hills and picturesque hilltop villages made of golden stone. Just north of Lyon, this lush, hilly region is known for its famed Beaujolais Nouveau and golden-stone architecture.
Join our driver-guide for a cultural and gourmet adventure, including an introduction to wine and a tasting session with a local winemaker.
Travel through scenic landscapes where villages glow in warm golden stones. Enjoy a wine-tasting session amid the vineyards, savoring two distinct wines paired with a local pastry, while learning about the “terroir” that makes each wine unique.
Visit Oingt, a 12th-century village listed as one of France’s Most Beautiful Villages, and stroll its medieval streets. End your tour at a family-owned winery where the friendly winemaker shares his craft and offers a tasting with a traditional Lyon “mâchon” of local cold meats and cheeses.

I enjoyed learning some of the historical context around Beaujolais wine and getting to see the beautiful countryside outside of Lyon. Our guide Francois did a great job.

It was delightful even with the rain! We went directly from Place Bellecourt to Oingt, which was so cute, with a delightful ambiance. Shame we could only enjoy a 40 minute trip by ourselves. The wines were light and very fruit based, characteristics from the Beaujolais region, as explained by our guides. The final stop in a local winery, was so good, we were very well received and the guides translated from french is an easy way, we could even ask some questions and see the wine making process, which was a treat. All in all, it was a great experience!
