Take a relaxing cruise along the picturesque shores of Seven Mile Beach and enjoy some of the best snorkeling on Grand Cayman on this two-stop ex-USS Kittiwake and Reef Sail. Visit the famous wreck of the ex-USS Kittiwake, a 251-foot submarine rescue vessel sunk off Cayman's shores in January 2011. Resting in just 60-foot-deep water and reaching to within 15-feet of the surface, this exciting wreck will give you plenty to explore as you swim through this window into the past. The second stop will be to a shallow coral reef where one can admire an array of marine life in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. Snorkel equipment is provided. Dry snacks are included and a fully-licensed cash bar is available on board (alcoholic drinks available after in-water activity). Guests may board the catamaran at The Westin or Grand Cayman Beach Suites along Seven Mile Beach.

We were 5 in a group of 10 snorkeling the kittiwake & boggy sands. We're rating this average not because of the crew or because the boat had steering problems, but because the snorkeling is honestly, below average in comparison to the rest of what we did in Cayman- could be due to conditions. But, honestly, the kittiwake had a really strong current & you were dropped off & had to swim back---not to mention there's not a lot to see other than a murky boat outline & some fish, though not a lot of fish & certainly no more than you see on the reef. Boggy sands was ok, again aquarium & the barrier reef in the bay were better, much more living "plant" like coral & color, similar number of fish maybe....of course we had calm days with excellent visibility at aquarium & barrier reef

Overall a good experience. The crew on the boat was friendly and helpful. The detractor is you really can’t see much of the Kittiwake when snorkeling. It was cloudy and too deep. When we moved to the reef fish were plentiful and only 8 feet deep, which was great. We picked this trip for the overall experience- being on a boat and multiple snorkeling spots and definitely accomplished this goal. Expectations from other reviews about the wreck itself were accurate as noted. We still would recommend.

The USS Kittiwake and reef snorkeling is really cool. Lots of amazing fish. Really great reef snorkeling! The catamaran is clean. Seats are NOT as plentiful as the number of people. Staff is rude. Summer ignored me for a full 5 minutes whilst handing other people who came up after me the waiver to sign. Later after snorkeling, a guy came around asking if we wanted drinks. Ordered a ginger ale was told $3.00 gave him a $10 and never got my change.

Spectacular crew and vessel. The drinks offered at the cash bar were very good. The fish along the reefs were stunning but I do wish they provided a defogging solution for our masks. Overall still an amazing experience.

The staff was so helpful and friendly and the adventure was unbeatable! We saw so many fish and even a stingray! The kids enjoyed sliding off the slide at the back of the boat when they were finished snorkeling.

The crew on board were friendly and helpful and the boat was very nice and clean. The crew was great at making sure that we were safe even though the water was a little choppy. I would go again in a minute.

An amazing excursion. The history and artifacts were incredible. The snorkeling was invigorating. The fish were colorful. The ocean floor was beyond belief. We even saw scuba divers in and around the ship. The crew was friendly and helpful. It was just long enough

If you use Red Sail Sports and go on the trip then you’ll probably have a good time. If your sail gets cancelled because of high wind (Feb 29,2020) and you booked it from their sales desk at The Kimpton Seafire then it might not be. Our Kittiwake & Reef Sail that was $172 was cancelled due to high wind. It is subject to a full refund. I was credited $77 back on my CC. I called them and they told me I should have gotten the other $95 credit from Seafire. I checked my statement on checkout from Seafire and there isn’t a credit. I called Seafire and they said they would check into it. Nothing. I called Red Sail back and they checked with Seafire again and told me I got a credit. I have sent about 8 emails and talked with Kimpton Seafire once and Red Sail Sports 4 or 5 times and can’t get a simple credit to my credit card that is correct. It shouldn’t be this hard.
