The Elqui Valley is the most valuable cultural and mountain destination in Chile, creator of the most emblematic cultural treasures of our country. Its illuminated atmosphere allowed the creation and development of various cultural practices that make it a dream destination for those seeking relaxation, inspiration, cosmic connection and advanced knowledge about Chile's cultural heritage. Its beautiful geography welcomed ancient indigenous peoples, churches and hacienda houses of the first conquerors surrounded by pyramidal mountains full of minerals, energy and a transparent atmosphere, propagated tropical, desert and Mediterranean crops and the oldest wine and pisco cellars in the country. You will discover the art of the Diaguitas, the legacy of the Incas, the origins of Chilean and Argentine wine, the advanced astronomical observatories and the places that inspired mystics and the first female Nobel Prize winner for literature in Latin America, Gabriela Mistral.

No-one spoke English & we booked for english tour. The various tours were disappionting as not understood & we were looking forward to pisco tour. The driver stayed on the bus & had to be asked to explain why we were stopping. At the winery stop, we were not expected & staff had to scramble to accomodate. The driver sat in the bus with no regard.

This tour was a great way to spend the day. We covered a lot of ground in the ~9 hours we spent together. Cristobal was a very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide whose passion for Chilean history and culture is obvious from the start. The choices for points of interest were excellent and one of the highlights was eating at a restaurant that used the sun to cook the food. Cristobal accommodated both English and Spanish speakers on the tour and was able to seamlessly switch between languages throughout the day. Everything was well organized and well balanced in terms of seeing beautiful landscapes, tasting pisco/wine while also learning about Chilean history. I’d recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing this beautiful part of Chile.

A great day out with a very knowledgeable guide. We were the only English speakers in our group and he went out of his way to make sure that we were included by repeating everything in English to us.

A very interesting day! Learning about The Valley, the work on the dam, the agriculture; to see how people live up there and to get to know Gabriela Mistral: it is a very diverse day - topped by the observatories and their workings. Our guide Natita was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting stories and facts!

We had a delightful day with Luis and Olga! They were very knowledgeable of the Elqui Valley and made every effort to make our tour comfortable and enjoyable. All of the stops we made whether it was sampling papaya or pisco or touring the reservoir and vineyards, we enjoyed an educational and fun time together. Wonderful people and tour!

Even though I was traveling alone, I had an A+ experience on the Grand-Tour Valle del Elqui. My guide, Martin, spoke perfect English and was fun to be with. He introduced me to people and took me to locations I never would have had access to on my own. For example, visiting the Solar Restaurant and taking a cooking class with the ladies was something I will never forget. It was such a beautiful day, and I guess I did something right because our lunch was delicious. Later on, he showed me a few edible plants and seeds; when I pointed them out to my friends, they were so impressed! Everything was far more special than I ever could have arranged for myself. I can't describe all the good things about my tour with TEMBETA, just sign up with them and see for yourself. Enjoy!

This was an awesome day! The local agency Tembeta is doing an outstanding job. Our guide Martin was very knowledgeable and we saw the nicest places in the Elqui Valley. We loved the stop at the Pisco Manufacturer and museum. The lunch was delicious at a special place, a solar restaurant. We visited the home of Gabriela Mistral and so many other beautiful villages. It was a wonderful day at the Elqui Valley.
