Valle del Elqui
Join us and enjoy a full day tour the mystical, warm and amazing Valley of Elqui. Positioned at a privileged point , dessert bounds in the north and vegetations bounds in the south, the tourist can feel and verify a pleasant sensation of energy ( recovery). It feels something a warm atmosphere related to the mysthic and esoteric activity.
Museo Gabriela Mistral de Vicuna
Many people assure that specifically the Cochiguaz valley is the new geo-magnetic center of the earth. Then a visit to a Pisco production plant allows us to adopt a general aproach to the Pisco making, before returning to road leading us to Vicuña, you will enjoy a Pisco tasting. Vicuña is the most important town in the valley and it´s also the hometown of our nobel prize poet Gabriela Mistral. You wiil also see the Baüer tower (former town council and a current symbol), the main square and the church. Lunch in a typical restaurant, after having lunch we start descending the valley in order to visit the tomb of Gabriela Mistral and her childhood school-house. Return to La Serena accompanied by a spectacular sunset in the background.

Our full day tour started at the port of Coquimbo, Chile in a 16 passenger Mercedes Van with Turismo Cochiguaz and our tour guide Samantha, who spoke excellent English. As traffic was light she opted to take us to the Faro lighthouse before proceeding through the Elqui Valley to the outskirts of Vicuna and the ABA Pisco Distillery. A type of grape brandy, the ABA distillery founded in 1921 remains in operation by the grandson of the original founder. We had a tasting of 4 types of Pisco and an information tour. We then visited the small town of Vicuna and the lovely square. A glimpse of an authentic small town and the people who live there. Samantha kept us on track to complete our tour on time and we stopped at a viewpoint to see the varied rocks and a scenic view of the Elqui Valley, proceding back to La Serena. I highly recommend this tour company with their good communications, excellent guide and driver.

Easy to leave the driving & selection of sights to others. Guide was very good! Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 - I had LOTS of time for tours & selection for this one fit in with other activities that had stronger preference. Home of Gabriela Mistral gave new insights

The day trip to the Elqui Valley was very enjoyable and interesting. To begin with, to know where Gabriela Mistral grew up and to know about her life story and some of her work was very enriching. Also visit to Pisquera Aba, a drink with denomination of origin, very tasty, especially Pisco Sour. Beautiful views of the mountain range, and lunch made based on the energy of the sun I loved.

The views were great and the tour guide was very personable. The pisco tasting could be improved, the explanations were good but we didn’t get to real taste pisco, only cocktails.

Booked this private tour for when our ship was in port in Coquimbo. Our guide was Samantha who spoke excellent English. She was knowledgeable & ran the tour well. We drove out along the Elqui Valley & stopped for photos at a reservoir. Then on to Falernia vineyard / pisco distillery, followed by a visit to the town of Vicuña which was interesting. Our return trip included a stop at the la Recova market in La Serena & at the lighthouse . The price was $45 payable on arrival. It was a fraction of the price of the cruise ship tour. I appreciate the cruise tour included a 3 course meal, but I personally was happy to miss that & have more time to see the area I think we saw more too. I would highly recommend this tour Contact [email protected]

I took a day tour through Elqui Valley and discovered lovely small towns, gorgeous night skies, and hidden hotels and resorts. It's worth a day trip or two from La Serena, Chile. Try the Pisco Sours and enjoy the laid back vibes of the local towns.

Very interesting tour. Both the tour guide and driver were very helpful and knowledgeable. Our group included English and Spanish speakers and our guide had no trouble going from one language to the other so everyone knew what was happening or what the information was. Very relaxed pace.
