5.00The day started being picked up in a comfy car with a very friendly driver named Bartus. From our resort in Castries, it was a good two hours to Gran Piton, but the drive went by fast with our knowledgeable driver. He was up for any conversation, answering all of our questions. The hike up the mountain, led by a young, polite and patient tour guide was strenuous but doable. The midway point lookout was the best view of the hike. Given the hikes takes 4-5 hour round trip, we recommend leaving Castries no later than 7AM so you can start trip by 9 AM.
