It's only a 4-mile walk up and down the tree-covered symbol of Saint Lucia- that is, up a winding trail that climbs the steep, rain forest-covered slopes of a 2,619 foot volcanic mountain. Periodically, the trees give way to breathtaking vistas of the emerald-green island and the too-blue waters of the Caribbean. Guides are mandatory, but full of knowledge. The caves once used as shelters by freedom fighters of the Brigand war, brightly colored tropical birds and lush vegetation that includes giant gommiers (used to make canoes), the smaller swizzlestick tree ( used to make swizzle sticks) and "peeling tourists" - trees with flaky brown bark that looks painfully familiar to anyone who's fallen asleep on the beach without sunblock.

Danny boy made the ride from Rodney Bay to Gros Piton enjoyable. He shared knowledge of the Island and had us laughing along the way. Good vibes!

Danny Boy was the best tour guide and driver on the island! Hiked Gros piton with no issues and enjoyed a cold piton afterward

This hike is more like a hike plus a scramble/climb. If you love hiking and the outdoors, it’s definitely for you. The driver was very friendly, and our guide was very good, getting us up to the top of the mountain. We were the only two on our tour (a bonus that you get your own group). Upon finishing (because if you start it you should get to the top of you physically can), we were greeted with some much deserved beers. This company did a great job, and from my research, it was the best value for this tour I could find overall. A guide is required for the trek, so booking here is a great day trip.

We drove to the mountain, stopping along the way for snacks and water. Our guides on the hike were excellent. They helped us with challenging areas and went at our desired pace. The hike was incredibly tough, but the views were amazingly beautiful, so it was worth it.
