On this tour you will visit Amberd, a fortress on the southern slope of Mount Aragats, founded in the 7th century. Next up is Lake Kari at the height of 3250 m on the slopes of Mount Aragats, the highest point of Armenia (4090 m). Up next is the stop for Armenian Dry Fruit production and tasting. Visit Saghmosavank, 13th century Armenian monastic complex, unique due to its frescoes with biblical themes and the perfect harmony with environment – vertical cliffs of Kasakh gorge. There comes the Alley of Armenian Letters (Alphabet Alley), that was built on the slopes of Mount Aragats in honor to the 1600th anniversary of the creation of Armenian alphabet. This monument is unique not only in Armenia, but all around the World.

The principal architectural features of medieval fortress-building have found their reflection in this fortress. Having been built on a naturally well-defended cape, Amberd has for long time served as an important military fort. Next to this secular edifice there is a church, built in 1026 by the duke Vahram Pahlavuni.

5.00The last tour of the season ran on 30 September and I changed my travel dates to Armenia just so I could do it. Was it worth it? Totally! Armen was a brilliant driver and Edward, our guide, a complete encyclopedia on Armenian history, culture, and folklore. At the same time, he was funny, efficient, and made every site we visited in and around Mt. Aragats, interesting. I am really glad I got to do the tour before the roads became difficult to travel through with the arrival of winter.

5.00We had Manya as our guide & Ara as our driver today & I am so glad that booked this excursion. All the places included in this trip are worth visiting for which they cover breathtaking landscapes & amazing armenian history. Manya is a storehouse of knowledge & super friendly. She's easily approachable & is so patient in answering all your queries. She not only told about the places mentioned in the itinerary but Also so many places in yeravan so enthusiastically.. and the place they took us for lunch felt like a family we visit often, so much warmth, so much love n so much good food.. all in all this is a great trip I recommend everyone to take if they are in yeravan

5.00The Aragats Mountains offer beautiful landscapes. But the icing on the cake is the church of Saghmosavank also nestled in a beautiful area. It is in Basalt which has allowed it to keep its moose look through the centuries. Too bad that the frescoes have lost a lot of their magic but in fact, religious images are not restored because for Armenians, these images distract them from the essential Cad God. This church is very frequented by young people who come to marry.
