After you are pricked up at your place in our private vehicles we head east to the Guatape region.
Your first stop in this Guatape tour is to try different exotic fruits you don't even know existed, with delicious sour or sweet flavors.
Our second stop is a flooded town replica: at this place you will be able to see and feel what it was like to live in the actual flooded town. Your guide will tell you all of the history of this town and show some pictures of how it was before.
After exploring this replica, we'll go toward the Guatape Rock also known as Piedra del Peñol. At this massive rock you get the chance to climb up it. Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you get to witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen.

What To Expect
Parque de Marinilla
Colombia is the most diverse country in the world in fruit production as we grow over 430 fruits throughout our territory. This is why we think we should take you to a fruit stand to try some of the most delicious ones. In this short stop, we are going to visit a farmers' market so you can be in a non-touristy place. Once there we provide you different exotic fruits you probably didn’t even know existed, with intense sour or sweet flavors. This is around a 20 minutes stop that is on the way to Guatape but our guests have loved it so far, so we are sure you are going to love it too. It is also a good opportunity to stretch your legs after 1 hour of sitting in the car before we reach the replica town, our next stop.
Piedra Del Penol
The drive from the fruits to the rock is around 35 minutes but is full of beautiful sceneries of kale plantations, onion, sugar cane, coffee, tomatoes and hundreds of mountains silhouettes. As we drive we start telling you all the history of the rock: components, owners, when was it climbed and more interesting facts. Once we get there you get the chance to climb up it. It’s 749 steps and 50 minutes approximately to go up and down. Once you reach the top, you can stay up there for as long as you wish as you witness one of the most beautiful views you have ever seen. This is not only our opinion but that of hundreds of tourists we have taken there. At the top there are several shops where you can buy water, beer and many other items and sit down to appreciate the view of the lake, tiny islands and country houses. Whenever you feel ready to start going down we'll be ready waiting for you to continue our adventure to one of the most colorful towns in the country: Guatape town.

5.00We did a Penol rock, Guatape town and exotic fruit tour with Erika. Our tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Erika made it very fun and unforgettable. She was full of interesting stories and she explained everything in great detail. We really loved spending time with her. She was like the mayor of the town. Everywhere we went people knew her which made us feel very safe. Thank you for our unforgettable experience !

5.00We booked a private tour for a group of 8 people to visit Guatape. I love that you can choose any start time with a private tour as we had a few people flying in that day and couldn't start at the usual time of 6:30AM for a lot of these other tour companies. Erika was our tour guide and she was such a pleasure. She was very informative (she could answer any question you had), funny and full of energy. She made our tour so much more lively and enjoyable. The van was very comfortable and they were very accommodating, allowing us to enjoy extra time at certain stops if we needed it. I would definitely recommend Medellin Day Trips for your next vacation.

5.00This was the perfect tour! We actually booked last minute (the day before) and they found availability for us. We were picked up at 930 (per our request) and the rest of the day was seamless. Esteban was our guide- thoughtful, knowledge, funny- he made it feel like we had been friends forever! A lot of insider knowledge to local spots and history (I’m obsessed with history). He waited whenever we needed, took all the photos we wanted and even gave us advice on the best local foods close to our hotel. This could not have been better- my husband and I usually to not opt for tours (we like exploring in our own). Esteban made it feel just like that! I can’t say enough good things. Thank you!!

5.00My friend and I booked the private tour because we wanted to be away from the tourist groups. Our guide Andres picked us up on time at the agreed location and we were even able to store our luggage safely in the car in the meantime. On the drive to Guatape, we had a great chat and Andres told us a lot about the region and the rock itself in advance. We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot throughout the day. Andres really took a lot of time for us on the guided tour of the town, catered to our individual wishes and showed us some really good restaurants for food and good cafés. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck with the weather, so we were unable to fly with the paragliders. Andres was in contact with the crew at the flying site the whole time to check the weather conditions. We then very quickly received a refund for the canceled paragliding flight, which we then spontaneously used for a helicopter flight. All in all, it really was an excellent experience, which was 100% down to our guide Andres. Any time again!
