Come and spend some time with Gufran in his home, located in the largest slum of South Mumbai. He will share stories about growing up here and tell you about Slum Care, a social initiative he runs.
Meet his family and friends, share in the smiles and curiosity, and make this a memorable experience in your life.
Hello!
We’ll enjoy a nice hot cup of Indian tea after meeting at Regal Cinema, an iconic Art Deco theater in Colaba. Our next stop is Sassoon Docks—one of the oldest docks, built in 1875, and now one of the largest fish markets. Then, we’ll observe traditional laundry washing before heading to my home of 23 years in Ganesh murti Nagar slums, the largest slum in South Mumbai.
Here, you'll meet wonderful and interesting people—my family and friends. This is also where Gregory Roberts, the author of the worldwide bestseller Shantaram, lived for a long time.
I look forward to showing you an authentic slice of Mumbai life!

If someone told you that Mumbai is not worth visiting, it simply means they never had the good fortune to meet Gufram Ahamed. Gufram is a guide by true vocation. Exceptionally kind, warm, and fully dedicated to his work. Thanks to him, Mumbai stopped being just a huge, noisy city and became a fascinating story full of contrasts, history, colors, and human emotions. He showed us Mumbai from every possible angle — from its famous landmarks to hidden alleys that we would never have discovered on our own. And that is exactly where the real magic of this city lies. Gufram tells stories in a way that captivates you from the very first minute. He has enormous knowledge, years of experience, and a remarkable talent for sharing history with humor, ease, and genuine passion. With him, even the busiest streets of Mumbai become the stage for unforgettable stories. This was not an ordinary sightseeing tour. It was a true adventure that will remain in our hearts for a long time. We laughed, we were amazed, and over and over again we said to each other, “How lucky we were to find him!” I recommend Gufram Ahamed with all my heart to anyone who wants to truly feel the soul of Mumbai, discover places beyond the usual tourist routes, and return home with beautiful memories. If you choose Gufram, there is a very good chance that you will fall in love with Mumbai just as we did.

Exploring the city with Gufram Ahamed is more than just sightseeing—it’s a true journey into the heart of Mumbai. From the very first moment, I felt I was in good hands. Gufram not only knows the city inside out but also has the ability to showcase it in a way that moves you and stays with you for a long time. This wasn’t a typical tourist ride—instead of postcard views, I witnessed the real life of Mumbai, its contrasts, energy, and remarkable people. A particularly profound experience was visiting the slum area where Gufram lives and works to support the local community. This encounter opened my eyes and allowed me to see the city from a completely different perspective. Throughout the tour, I felt safe and comfortable, and the atmosphere was incredibly friendly. Gufram eagerly shared his knowledge, answered questions, and ensured the experience was authentic and valuable. If you want to see Mumbai as it truly is—I wholeheartedly recommend Gufram as your guide!

Gufran, thank you for such a special day with you in Mumbai. From the very first moment, your open heart and warm personality made us feel completely welcome. You didn’t just guide us around — you welcomed us into your home, introduced us to your family, and made us feel like we truly belonged. Spending those hours with you felt less like being on a tour and more like spending time with a local friend. That made the whole experience authentic, personal, and unforgettable. It was also very moving to see the community work and initiatives you are leading. It’s clear that you care deeply about your family, but also about your community and the people around you. Your values, generosity, and dedication really stand out. We feel lucky to have met you🙏🏻

If you're visiting Mumbai, Gufi is the absolute best guide you can ask for. He drove us everywhere comfortably and showed us the city's highlights, including Victoria Station and Gandhi's house. The most touching part of the tour was the visit to the slums. Gufi invited us into his own home and showed us the school he runs for poorer children – a truly eye-opening and inspiring experience. Throughout the day, he explained Indian culture in a fascinating way. We ended the tour by sharing a fantastic meal together at a delicious, authentic restaurant. We felt like we were spending time with a friend rather than a guide. Highly recommended!

Did a tour with GoofyTours in Mumbai with my family and it was honestly really amazing. The guide was super nice and one of the coolest parts was that he actually lives in the slums, so hearing about his own life was really interesting. You can tell he’s a really good person and he even helps run a school there. Walking through the slums was really interesting and eye opening. We did other stuff too but I’d honestly want to go back just to see more of the slums. Definitely something I’ll remember, would 100% recommend.

On our first full day in Mumbai, our hotel arranged a tour for us with Gufi. He met with us at our hotel in the early morning, and we toured a fish market, a flower market, and a vegetable market. The colors were amazing, multiple opportunities for great photos. After a coffee, we toured a laundry, and the slum where Gufi lives. He invited us into his home for tea and to meet his family. We had many tour guides during our two week trip in India, but this was by far our favorite experience. Incidentally, for those who are interested, his language skills are excellent. Highly recommend.

Gufi was our guide for two days. He showed us several viewpoints around Mumbai and shared a lot of information along with some fun facts. Gufi is very friendly and open, which made us feel comfortable right away. We had a great time.
