Guided tour of 1 hour and a half with our guide to La Laguna Verde, which belongs to the recent volcanic chain, on the Apaneca mountain range. The place is similar to a natural place, constantly surrounded by mist and all its vegetation is surprising.

It’s a ride to a small lake. The drive there isn’t too scenic, just down a bumpy road. Not a ton of direction on the ATVs but you figure it out. The guides were friendly and helpful.

The host never responded to time and location inquiries from myself or Viator. I am in the process of waiting for a refund.

We had an amazing time with Luis as our guide, and I would highly recommend him! For context, our group consisted of two adults and two children (ages 8 and 10), with each child riding with an adult. Our day started at Albania Café, and by about 3 PM, we made our way to the ATV location, which was just a 4-minute drive away. We initially had some trouble finding the location due to a few road closures for a local festival, but the team was very responsive, and we were able to locate them quickly. There’s safe parking on the road in front of the ATV garage. The tour itself lasts about 1.5 hours. The first half hour takes you through the town and some beautiful countryside, while the second half is spent at a stunning lake. Just a heads-up, it’s a good idea to bring some extra cash, as there is a small fee to enter the lake (about $1-2). Be sure to bring a sweater as well—while the town area is relatively warm, it can get chilly by the lake. We left our sweater in the car because the sun was beaming but we were cold by the lake. At the lake, you'll find local vendors offering coffee, snacks, and food (cash only). My kids enjoyed some chips and gum, while we grabbed a beer and a soda for around $4 total. You can also take a small boat ride around the lake (we opted out, as our kids were having fun running around), and it's very safe—there are police presence on-site. A couple of tips: there are no bathrooms at the lake, so make sure to use the restroom back at the ATV garage before heading out. Also, the ATVs are easy to drive, but be cautious when on the road, especially as the streets can be narrow and there may be oncoming traffic on the way back from the lake. Overall, this was an incredible experience, and I would definitely book this tour again. The guides work hard to ensure you have a great time, so don't forget to leave a tip—it’s definitely worth it!

It was a great experience! Worth the drive, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Amazing scenery. Take your money because you have an opportunity to buy some food or refreshments at the laguna. Great for pictures as well!
