What To Expect

Our company takes you on an unprecedented morning quest: the observation of dolphins in their natural habitat, the Tamarin Bay. The morning offers perfect conditions for having the chance to observe the two fabulous marine mammals: the spinner dolphin (Stenella longirostris) and the bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus), which often take refuge in the bay at night in order to mate and feed. Embark with your guide on the kayaks to discover in a responsible and respectful way the dolphins of Mauritius. This 2-hour adventure is open to everyone and does not require any previous experience with kayaks. It is important to note that we cannot guarantee with certainty the presence of dolphins. These are sometimes off the coast, inaccessible by kayak. An alternative route will then be proposed to discover the Tamarind River and its wildlife. Prerequisites for participation: be able to swim, have kayaked before, weigh less than 100 kg and be over 12 years old.

We met Gilles at the break of dawn on the tranquil shores of Tamarin Beach. The world was still waking up, and the soft light of morning cast a golden shimmer across the ocean. Our small group of four – a mix of English and French speakers – felt immediately at ease. Gilles, fluent in both languages, welcomed us warmly and set the tone for a peaceful adventure. We paddled far out into the bay, our kayaks gliding silently over the calm water. The journey was long and steady, each stroke bringing us closer to nature. And then, as if summoned by the rhythm of the sea, the dolphins appeared. Graceful and playful, they danced through the waves – a breathtaking sight that made every effort worthwhile. Sadly, the serenity was briefly interrupted by speedboats chasing the dolphins, a stark contrast to our quiet, respectful approach. But the magic of the moment remained. The return to shore was a challenge – a long paddle against the wind, muscles tired but spirits high. The ocean had tested us, but also rewarded us with unforgettable memories. Thank you, Gilles, for this truly special morning. It was a highlight of our time in Mauritius – peaceful, authentic, and full of wonder.

We spent 3 exceptional hours with Gilles we saw the sunrise, rainbows, dolphins and we walked on the river. A fantastic morning with a attentive and caring guide. It is an activity done absolutely in Mauritius.

Not exactly what we expected but great experience! We booked the kayak as we are very conscious of animal welfare and had read how speed boats encircle dolphins and get them stressed. We chose kayaks to respect them. We did see dolphins, the outing was incredible but the boats were there and people jumping out of them to swim with the dolphins which was very unfortunate. It really bothered me to see how invasive this is to the animals. Thankfully our great guide Gilles helped us navigate safely between all the boats (at one point one of my kids counted 17!) got us to see the dolphins and the took us up the river Tamarin as we had time to spare. Saw crabs, monkeys and birds. Much calmer and great atmosphere. Kudos to Gilles and Yanature!

We had a great time during our kayak tour and we got the chance to see many many dolphins. Fabrice and Regine are great guides and made us feel safe and comfortable during the whole tour. I would definately recommend this tour.

After about half an hour, dolphins appeared, which we were able to accompany a little on their route. Thanks to our wonderful guide Jérémie we have also learned a lot about dolphins. We have always felt safe. Thank you very much

We had a fantastic experience on the dolphin kayak tour with our guide, Gilles. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, sharing so much about the local culture and nature. The tour itself was beautiful – we saw dolphins, which was absolutely worth it! Afterward, we paddled to the river, which was just as stunning. Brilliant kayak with Jeremie and we had the pleasure of naturally seeing the dolphins. Thank you for making it so great even though we capsized 🤣. If only Mauritius Government would make this the only way to see dolphins, instead of so many speed boats constantly harassing the dolphins. and people swimming/touching them. Come on guys stop paying for the speed boats and be more at nature on a kayak. We need to start loving our nature ❤️

The tour was once great! Our guide Gilles was super professional, guided us very well and also told us a lot of interesting things about the history and surroundings. We were lucky that there were really a lot of dolphins on that day and also long on the way. Gilles always mocked the dolphins great for us and since we were on the road so early we were almost the only ones around the dolphins for some time. Really a unique experience. Afterwards we paddled along the Tamarind river for a while, where we could observe some monkeys and flying dogs. It was a great tour, but it was also very informative and an unforgettable experience, especially by the guide Gilles!
