Irelands only purpose built alpaca trekking scenic trail with a coffee trailer on an island.
A unique experience for friends, family or solo adventurers. Walk with a gentle alpaca around a stunning 1.4km stoned pathway that meanders through farmland, woodland and wetlands, over bridges and undulating picturesque terrain. At the end of your guided walk, you get to stop at a coffee trailer located on a small island in one of our ponds to enjoy a proper tea or coffee and of course a delicious bake or two!

What To Expect
You will be met by your ranger in our car park and taken to the start of the alpaca trekking. The ranger will read a safety briefing and then you will be introduced to your chosen alpaca. Your trek will commence on our trail through farmland, woodland and around ponds. You will cross nine bridges. The trek takes approximately 30-40mins and at the end your alpaca will be tied up and you will be able to cross a bridge to an island with a superb coffee trailer with picnic tables. The total experience is 1hr 30mins and you will have the opportunity to walk around the trail again if you wish.

5.00We recently went Alpaca trekking at Ballyburren with two teenagers, one of whom has complex special needs. The alpacas were adorable and we all enjoyed meeting them. Our guide Charlotte was exceptional! Patient and informative she looked after us very well. We will be back!

5.00We are a medical practice and had a trip to ballyburran for alpaca trekking. Charlotte and Reuban were our guides and they were geeat! We had a quick safety briefing then we were off. The trek was through a scenic area with a good path. We had our picnic at the lake. The food was lovely a good selectuon of scones sandwiches and sweets. To top it off we had hot chocolate too. A great day our. The alpaca is such a beautiful warm and friendly animal

5.00My children, friend and i did the Alpaca trekking experience, we really enjoyed. The alpacas were adorable and our host Charlotte was great she knew everything about them and told us a lot of information. We will be back. The heavy rain didn’t dampen our fun!

5.00My 2nd visit to Ballyburren this year for the Alpaca trekking, this time with my neice. A fantastic experience for her birthday treat. Beautiful walking trail, fantastic guided trek with Ellen, full of interesting facts about alpacas. I opted for the cake & coffee, juice & sweets package which was delicious! My niece had a truly unique experience for her birthday. many thanks for a great time!

5.00We recently visited as a group with family and friends for my daughter’s 10th birthday. Lola looked after us and was so super knowledgable and brilliant with the kids. She a is a real credit to the business as her customer service was excellent. The alpacas were fascinating and we have the most beautiful walk with a lovely stop off for refreshments along the way. We pre booked the refreshments and it was seamless. The tray bakes were delicious and the added happy birthday bunting and balloons for my daughter was a really special touch - thank you! Everyone loved the trek from the kids to the grandparents. We can’t wait to return again and do a sunset trek!
