Your culinary journey begins in Skanstull, the southern gateway to Södermalm. Once an industrial area, it has evolved into a lively district where tradition meets modern city life. We stroll along Götgatan, a bustling street lined with boutiques, cafés, and local businesses. Our first stop is a family-run seafood shop with over 60 years of history, where we sample delicacies and learn about Sweden’s rich fishing traditions. As we move through trendy SoFo, we visit hand-picked restaurants and specialty shops offering everything from artisanal cheeses and cured meats to both traditional and modern Swedish dishes. Along the way, we explore the area’s history, culture, and culinary heritage. Our journey concludes at a renowned chocolate atelier, where handcrafted pralines, pastries, and cakes have been made for almost 30 years. We finish with a Swedish fika, enjoying handmade confections and rich hot chocolate—a sweet ending to our flavorful walk through Södermalm.

Wow, this was an incredible experience! Having just arrived in Stockholm after a trans-Atlantic flight, we thought a three-hour walk with food stops sounded like the best antidote for jet lag. This turned out to be one of the highlights of our 8-day stay in Stockholm. The food stops are varied and expose you to excellent food and the owners of restaurants and food stores, who are happy to share their passion for food. Our guide was lovely, knowledgeable, and super attentive to her guests. We were so fortunate to have Swedes on our English tour, which added depth and cultural exchange to the outing.

We were visiting from the US for the Global Series Hockey game. This tour was one of the activities planned during our visit. The tour did not disappoint. The highlight was our tour guide William. William was great explaining the significance of each stop and kept us engaged during the entire tour. The food was pretty good too!!

Great tour! Kristen was our guide and she was knowledgeable and so friendly ! She took us to places and tried food we would never have found on our own. The pickled herring is much better than it sounds! Salmon, meatballs, cheeses and some had wine pairing with them. Reindeer and bear were not too bad. Ends at the nicest chocolatier for chocolates and fika.

Great FOOD TOUR!! We scheduled the tour for our last day in Sweden and wish we would have done it earlier. We learned so much about Swedish food, customs and the surrounding area. The atmosphere was fun and engaging and the food was amazing!!!

We went on the tour to Södermalm, and were incredibly impressed by the setup. An amazing guide, Oliver, who organized our tour to 7 different restaurants in a great way. Good and exciting food, where allergy in a participant was satisfied in the best way. Different types of restaurants. No longues, but perfectly balanced time in every place. Our guide told us very interesting about the food in each place, but also about the environment during the walks. I really recommend this experience.

This was a really great tour! Oliver was a fantastic tour guide, sharing not only information about the different foods and locations we went to but also stopping along the way to share some local history with us. I also enjoyed that this was a smaller tour; a lot of food tours we’ve been on in other countries have large groups of people and it makes it hard to really appreciate. I would definitely recommend this tour if you’re interested in learning about traditional Swedish food.

What a wonderful exploration of Swedish food at Södermalm highlights this was! We started near Skanstull, near the southern end of the island of Södermalm and walked up towards the north-east end of the island over a few hours. The tour included so many different dishes, so it's a good thing the portions were small and we had plenty of walking to help us digest. We lucked out with the sunny weather which made all the walking a pleasure - but do wear comfortable shoes. Our knowledgeable travel guide, in addition to talking us through our stops, pointed out other highlights along the route. The small group size made it easy to stick together and keep the conversation flowing. The food sampled included several classic Swedish fish dishes, a sampling of wild charcuterie meats, ice cream, Indian dishes, meatballs with traditional sides, and, to finish, chocolate in several different forms. The price seemed good value for all the dishes it covered. This tour was led in English, but it's also available in Swedish.

Oliver did a fantastic tour! I learned so much more than I expected. In between, whenever there was time, he would show us little extra things, and then he followed up the tour by giving us bakery recommendations for our trips. The stops were unique and easy. Not too long, not too short. Just right. Highly recommend.
