What To Expect
Sodermalm
Your culinary journey begins in Skanstull, the southern gateway to Södermalm. Once an industrial area, it has evolved into a lively district where tradition meets modern city life. We stroll along Götgatan, a bustling street lined with boutiques, cafés, and local businesses. Our first stop is a family-run seafood shop with over 60 years of history, where we sample delicacies and learn about Sweden’s rich fishing traditions. As we move through trendy SoFo, we visit hand-picked restaurants and specialty shops offering everything from artisanal cheeses and cured meats to both traditional and modern Swedish dishes. Along the way, we explore the area’s history, culture, and culinary heritage. Our journey concludes at a renowned chocolate atelier, where handcrafted pralines, pastries, and cakes have been made for almost 30 years. We finish with a Swedish fika, enjoying handmade confections and rich hot chocolate—a sweet ending to our flavorful walk through Södermalm.

5.00This is the best food tour we have taken. It provided ample time to sit down and savor the offerings, and introduced us to not only the food but also the culture behind the food. Our guide, Oliver, was outstanding. He engaged us in a discussion of the foods of Sweden, introduced us to our various culinary hosts, and was warm and personable. Kudos!

5.00Last week, 4 of us had a fantastic afternoon w Kristen, eating our way through Sodermalm. Kristen is passionate about food, as are we; we were a perfect match. Kristen gave us background about the area, its history and the foods. We had a great experience eating all afternoon. We visited a fish market, a number of restaurants- everything was set up, in a private area and the staff was waiting for our arrival. The tastes were vast and delicious. At our last stop in a chocolate/pastry shop we were whisked to a private room to taste the amazing chocolate, pastries and gelato. I have no idea how we ate dinner that night?! I can’t image a better guide and experience- and we have been all over the world on foodie tours. Kristen and Food Tours Stockholm were outstanding.

5.00Oliver and Amelia took us to such great places! We tried local favorites and many new tastes. Having beers and other drinks was a wonderful addition. Oliver’s beer was fantastic and should be permanently added to the tour. They were both so interesting, informative and friendly.

5.00Do the tour it’s fantastic! A great variety of interesting food stops with some local history whilst walking between venues. Wonderful guides who made us feel very welcome and catered for everyone’s needs. The food was amazing and you came away feeling you had tasted Sweden!

5.00This is the best food tour I have ever experienced! It is not just a bite of a piece of pastry or pieces of candies, although there some sweets in this tour as well, but it is not one but several. The first one even had wine pairing on it. Amazing choices, I left quite full and very satisfied. The 2 guides were very nice, making sure we are having a good time, and so much easy people to be with. I would recommend this tour and guarantee you will not regret it!

5.00This was an unbelivable food tour! Highly recommned!! Oliver was knowledgeable, gracious, friendly and the food was delicious! We were a family of 10 and we had such a great afternoon! The brewery, the ramen, Swedish street food, meatballs, and the lovely presentations of cheese, fish and meats at Upsprung. Kristen was so friendly and warm and we enjoyed hearing about the traditions of the Swedish people. We ended with traditional FIKA! A highlight of our trip to Stockholm. Wear comfortable shoes and loose pants! There's a ton of delicious food served! It was an excellent value for price.
