Nagoya Castle
Nagoya Castle: Where History Meets Legendary Bling Welcome to Nagoya Castle, one of Japan’s most iconic and legendary strongholds, proudly standing tall in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, right in the heart of Honshu! Cool Castle Facts: Born in 1612 – Built by the legendary Tokugawa Ieyasu, the powerhouse behind the Tokugawa shogunate. Talk about a strong start! Golden Guardians – Spot the dazzling golden shachihoko on the rooftops! These mythical tiger-headed fish are said to protect the castle from fire—and they look awesome doing it. Style Goals – Traditional Japanese vibes with towering stone walls, bright white plaster, and an epic central keep (called a donjon). It's like stepping into a samurai movie set. Sky-high Splendor – The main tower stretches up to 48 meters (157 feet)—basically the height of a 15-story building!
Tokugawa Garden
t’s a beautiful Japanese landscape garden built on the grounds of the Owari Tokugawa family’s former residence. Highlights: Central pond and waterfall: A classic kaiyū-style (strolling) garden with a large pond representing the sea, with artificial hills symbolizing mountains. Seasonal flowers: Peonies in spring, irises in early summer, autumn foliage, and snowy scenery in winter.

We had a perfect day in Nagoya with Tomoko. Knowledgeable, energetic, and very accommodating… Saw all the sites, learned a lot of history, and a highlight was eel for lunch in a traditional eel restaurant. We could not have asked for a better day! Thank you, Tomoko and your husband, Sarah, who was also a great communicator and support throughout.

Tomoko was an amazing tour guide. She was answering all of our questions and she took us to a great place to get a traditional eel dish. She gave us recommendations and was very personable. We also had great conversation before the trip to go through exactly what I wanted to see so she could cater the tour for us.

He is amazing and kind and knows the City for over 20 years! He drove us all around and it was perfect for the Summer heat. The Toyota museum was great for car lovers and all about the history of all cars! One of my favorite cities. His English is perfect!!! Book this tour!

Tomoko and Serge were amazing! Before the trip Serge reached out to help us decide what to do and provided a lot of great recommendations. Tomoko showed us where to eat and also provided great recommendations the day of the tour. We got to see all of the sights as well as a surprise to see matcha being ground fresh! Such a wonderful tour and tour guides! 10 out of 10 must do!

This tour was originally planned with us touring with good friends. Tour company owner Serg was very helpful and prompt in assisting us plan our tour in advance of our coming to Nagoya. Due to a medical issue our friends had to cancel their trip. So, our tour for four was no longer necessary. We were sure that our tour would be cancelled, however Serg and Tomoko worked out the same tour for Vic and I with the same itinerary. Tomoko met us at the port with our sign so we could easily identify her with minimal walking. It was a great start to a great day! Tomoko had a very busy schedule for us to make maximum use of our day in Nagoya, but Barbara had her heart set on a ride on the bullet train. Tomoko quickly worked out a change in her itinerary to accompany us on a ride on the bullet train and take care of the ticket purchases and moving us to the right train to catch. It was a great experience. We still visited all the other sites we wanted to! We had a delicious lunch in a restaurant that specializes in eel and it was quite an experience for both of us! Tomoko was everything we had hoped for in our tour guide for the day! Her English was perfect, her knowledge of Nagoya and Japan was superior, she was funny and entertaining, and she accommodated everything we wanted to do. Her husband Serg even made a special trip to the port terminal to meet us and ensure we had seen everything that we wanted to! We can highly recommend Tomoko for any tour you might want in Nagoya for the day or and length of time! We loved Tomoko and our thanks for a wonderful day in Nagoya! Barbara and Vic

We had a fabulous time. The driver Serge was really personable and accommodating to our interests. We ended up going to the Palace Museum instead of the Toyota Museum and really enjoyed ourselves! 10/10 experience!
