A private bilingual guide (one of the best local guides in the city!) will pick you up directly from your hotel for a 4-hour tour. You start from your Hotel, then continue to the neighborhood of Manga to see the beautiful republican style houses. The next stop is La Popa Monastery, where you can appreciate the best views of Cartagena de Indias. From there you go to the Castle of San Felipe, the largest piece of architecture that shows the strength and power that the Spaniards had in Latin America. Your next stop will be the Walled City, where you will see the Bóvedas, another example of military architecture and fascinating history. At Las Bovedas, you can buy local art and crafts by local artisans. You continue the tour by walking through the Old City and discovering the magical streets of Cartagena. There you will see beautiful houses, colonial squares, and historical churches. Finally, finish with a visit to the upcoming neighbourhood of Getsemani.

This was a trip of a lifetime for 5 women who travel often. Margo at Aracanto set us up with Oscar as our tour guide. In my opinion he did everything right…. From the moment he meet us at the airport to our last day he was great. Very knowledgeable about Cartagena and Colombia. Also very entertaining and enthusiastic about his career. Felt very comfortable and safe during our stay.

Oscar was our guide for this 1/2 day tour with a special stop to experience Colombian coffee. Oscar was knowledgeable, kind and funny. We enjoyed his company thoroughly during this half-day tour., which included the fortress and multiple neighborhoods throughout the walled city. This is the perfect tour at the beginning of your trip to get your acclimated to the city and learn a little bit of its history. I would definitely recommend.
