What To Expect
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
It is classified as one of the most beautiful mosques in the world. In 2001, it received a gender certificate for the largest chandelier in the world. Entry to the mosque is open every day except Friday and visiting hours are from 8 am to 11 am.

5.00This was a very enjoyable half day seeing a number of the main sites in Muscat. The Sultan Qaboos mosque and the Royal Opera House are both stunning (the mosque is, imo, better than the one in Abu Dhabi - more intimate and with excellent explanation of the key tenets of Islam from the volunteers there). Old Muscat was also veri interesting. Mahmoud, our guide, was excellent and tailored the tour to our wishes. He seemed to know everyone we met!

5.00Really enjoyable morning with our guide, Saif. We had picked to do this tour on Friday morning so we’re a little limited as some places were closed but that really didn’t take away from an informative and enjoyable tour of Muscat. The pace was great and we saw all the main sites and had a couple of Omani food stops along the way!
