"Las Tintoreras", a group of small islets full of inlets and hidden beaches. The islet of Tintoreras is located south of Puerto Villamil. It has a bay where it is possible to observe sea lions, sea turtles, sea iguanas, stingrays, etc. This bay is connected to a superficial crack of crystalline waters that closes when the tide is low. In this crack it is possible to see whitetip sharks swim with the rest of tropical fish and sea lions.

What To Expect

The guide will pick you up in the lobby of the hotel, (Hotel pick up inside the urban perimeter of Puerto Villamil) or we can give you a good meeting point to join with us.
Las Tintoreras
We started the activity at 09:00 AM or 14H00 PM from Isabela Island. From the bay we go to a set of islets called Tintoreras. Well known for being the habitat of penguins and white tip sharks! We can sight these cute birds and have a great chance of finding wolves sailors along the coasts. Other animals that we can observe while surrounding the islets are: rays, sea turtles, bay shakrs, goldfish, etc. We enjoyed snorkeling time near the site, we will observe, sea turtles, sea lions, shark dye, different types of manta rays, various types of fish, galapagos penguin etc). Bird watching (blue footed boobies and other birds) Islet walk observation of volcanic rock formations.

5.00A quick, whistlestop tour of the inlet with a fabulous guide, captain and assistant. We saw so many sealions, turtles, iguanas and blue footed boobies! Its like being in a wildlife documentary! There is time to snorkle for a bit too. A nice, compact tour after a hectic, tiring few days

5.00This tour was fantastic - we were able to see and learn about the wildlife on land and in the water. I would suggest doing this tour in the morning/low tides as visibility was pretty bad once we finally got into the water to snorkel. Still a great tour!

4.00The boat ride and the snorkeling spots were terrific too bad it was a drizzling and overcast that day. We saw do many sea turtles that we swam with and even a large sea horse. There were sea lions including fur sea lion, blue footed boobies, and a couple of cute penguins. This area is so cool and raw nature with all the volcanic underwater bridges - looks like it was just created out of primordial ooze.

5.00AmaZing experience! We loved it! Kids had a great time! It’s not a “half day” tour- more like 2 1/2 hours. We would have liked more time to snorkel, but it is fantastic! Great guide!
