4.00The experience of salt mining is incredible and so educational. The scenes of Hallstatt is like a fairy tale. It would be 5/5 if the entrance fee of 43 euro is included. This is only an admission fee in this 8-hour trip.

3.00The details regarding this experience are not as listed in the post. Pick up is not necessarily at your hotel, is not at 9:00 am and drop off is in town. Furthermore the salt mine tour is very time consuming as you are waiting in queuing lines for the funicular and the tour itself. There are many stairs to climb and considerable walking in the actual mine which is set up more as a science immersive experience rather than actual mining. It was interesting but not what I expected. Much less time in town due to large crowds which are more standard than not. Town was beautiful but crowded and scenery to and from was splendid.

5.00This was a wonderful experience. Our guide Shiva was charming and engaging with a great sense of humor. We learned so much about Austrian history, and culture and were awarded beautiful views of the countryside and lake districts. The tour of the salt mines was a fun and unique experience and the view from the observation deck was spectacular. This is definitely something to do. The town of Hallstatt was charming and a special place to walk through and enjoy the beautiful views of the lake. Overall we highly recommend this tour.

5.00Our tour guide was great..very informative and chose two different routes when driving to and from Salzburg ,so we could experience different views of the countryside. The Salt Mine tour was informative and fun. I was not very impressed by Hallstadt but that is perhaps because I have seen many small mountain/lakeside towns in Europe.
