We set out from Vienna in the morning, trading boulevards for open fields and foothills on a roughly 4-hour westbound drive. In the final hour, the road drifts into the Salzkammergut: clear lakes flash between trees, the slopes gather height, and small villages press close to the shoreline—an easy preview of what’s ahead. Hallstatt appears suddenly, tucked between water and rock. The tempo drops. You follow the lakeside promenade toward the slender church spire, step into the Market Square, and wander lanes that climb toward the forest.

Terrific experience. Driver picked up at hotel. He was friendly and professional Vienna to Salzburg 3 hours. Spent @2 hours in Salzburg before on to Hallstatt. Spent a couple of hours and then back to Vienna. Trip was good. Probably should only be to Salzburg. Driver spoke very clear English. He was attentive and engaging. Weather was cold and wet. That made the Christmas market a little chilly. But the Brawtwurst was good.

We’re sure this tour is absolutely amazing, but unfortunately we never even got the chance to experience it due to extremely poor customer service. We arrived at the pickup location 30 minutes early, exactly as listed on our ticket. As the pickup time got closer, we tried contacting the company multiple times to confirm we were in the right spot — no answer, no callback, nothing. This Hallstatt trip was supposed to be one of the highlights of our time in Vienna, and instead, we missed the entire tour because we couldn’t get any help or communication from the operator. It was incredibly disappointing and completely avoidable. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

This was a great excursion! We had a day in Vienna, and really wanted to experience a bit of nature. Hallstat was absolutely stunning. Getting to experience it at sunset while enjoying a mug of hot wine was the highlight of the day. Richard was great, even after an extremely long day.

Marko is an amazing tour guide. He knows his stuff and was great making sure the group got what they needed. Be ready to walk, and be prepared for a few hours in the van!

We had a fabulous day trip with Richard, ( our driver & guide). He was on time & courteous the whole day. We travelled in a comfortable Mercedes van that conveyed our group of 6 to the Alps & back. Whilst the weather didnt look to promising on the way to Hallstatt, it didnt deter us from getting some good photos .We had a generous amount of time in both Hallstatt & Salzburg. The view from the castle ramparts was spectacular. Well worth the trip

It is a van , not a bus, so it was cramped space. The guide was also the driver., which seems like a long day for him. The guide, Mark, was knowledgeable and caring.

Pros. Saw wonderful scenery especially near Halstatt. Nice driver Cons. Maybe misread the description. We are on our own in both Salzburg and Halstatt. In Salzburg, we missed seeing the castle as we were eating (had to leave Vienna before eating breakfast) Since the skywalk is closed, there is not much else to do in Halstatt.

Marek was so kind and extremely knowledgeable. He made the trip so pleasurable . It was a long day but so scenic and he explained everything as we passed historic sites . I really liked Marek and would recommend this trip to all. It was absolutely beautiful.
