What To Expect

Create your own ceramic piece in a hands-on workshop led by a **professional potter with over 20 years of experience** in the heart of Arima Onsen. - Start with Clay Kneading Begin by preparing the clay with your hands before moving on to the potter’s wheel. - Wheel-Throwing Experience Shape a plate, bowl, or cup on an electric potter’s wheel. Beginners welcome! You can try multiple pieces, but only one will be fired and finished. - Exclusive Arima Glaze Choose from unique glazes, including one made with Arima Onsen’s mineral-rich water. (Glazing and firing will be done by the potter and are not part of the workshop.) - Take Home a Special Souvenir Receive a mini ceramic piece as a keepsake. Your finished piece will be ready in about **three months**, with international shipping available for an additional fee.

We had a lovely time. The teacher was patient and very helpful. We created 3 things each which was more than expected. We would highly recommend the experience and we cannot wait to see the final products.

This experience was amazing. This is a must. Tanaka was the best teacher! He made throwing a bowl or cup so easy and fun. The studio is beautiful and a walk around Arima Onsen after class is stunning. If you are in the town please visit his studio.

It was a great experience. I learned a lot about pottery and the art behind it. The house where the workshop is in is super beautiful and the craft itself almost like meditation. I’m super happy to have been part of this experience. I have great memories from it. The workshop is in a beautiful little village with a natural hot spring.
