Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, & the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian diets sorry, as there would be 3-4 less tastings. ✖️ Unsuitable for severe allergies, halal and celiac diets, due to the risk of traces & cross-contamination. Hanoi
By dusk, Hanoi's streets come alive with the clattering of pans and rise of steam as tasty food bubbles and boils in Vietnam's Northern culinary powerhouse. We'll venture outside the Old Quarter, starting at St. Joseph's cathedral, where we'll soon find closely-guarded family recipes for iconic dishes, biting into fluffy banh mi baguette, and slurping on a drool-worthy beef pho noodle soup - all washed down with a freshly squeezed sugarcane juice. Discover why Michelin gave the city a food reputation to boast about, from sizzling bánh xèo pancakes and grilled bun cha pork patties, to wok-fried eel cake and crunchy crab spring rolls. Toss your fork over shredded nom bò papaya salad with beef, served alongside translucent tapioca dumplings.

5.00I had such a great food tour in Hanoi with Stella from Chef’s Tour and would highly recommend it. Stella was warm, knowledgeable and just lovely to spend time with. It felt more like being shown around by a local friend than being on a formal tour, which made the whole experience really relaxed and enjoyable. We went to a range of local spots I would never have found on my own, and every dish was fresh, authentic and full of flavour. Stella explained each dish in a simple, engaging way and shared great insights into Hanoi’s food culture and daily life. A genuinely memorable experience. Five stars.

5.00Tom was a super engaging guide with a lot of great info on the food, the culture, and the history of Hanoi. Everything we ate was full of flavour and it was great to walk and see the city. Overall, Tom really made it fun and enjoyable.

5.00Great experience overall, especially if you are curious about local food and want to try a lot in a short amount of time. Dahlia was an amazing guide who helped us discover hidden gems we would never have found on our own- a highlight was having pho in a woman’s living room which felt like a unique experience.

5.00If you're looking for a food tour in Hanoi where you actually leave full and satisfied, this is the one. The Hanoi Dusk tour was perfectly balanced. I tried a fantastic variety of dishes, from street food classics to more local specialties, and every stop was thoughtfully chosen. What really stood out was how many of the places I visited were true hidden gems. These are spots that locals love but tourists would almost never discover on their own. It felt like I was getting exclusive access to the real Hanoi food scene. Our guide, Sofi, was outstanding. She's young, energetic, and genuinely passionate about the food and her city. She made the whole experience fun and engaging, and she was happy to answer every question I had. You could tell she really cares about making sure everyone has a great time. I can't recommend this tour enough. Whether you're a foodie or just want to experience authentic Hanoi like a local, book this one. You won't regret it! Thanks again Sofi!

5.00My husband and I really enjoyed our Twilight tour tonight with our guide Tom. His English is excellent and he is very knowledgeable about the culture and the history of Vietnam. We had 15 + food tastings and loved everything that we tried. We tasted so many different dishes that we would never had known to try on our own. Tom took extra care with explaining everything that we were trying and he really knows his way around the bustling area. I would definitely recommend Tom as your guide on this amazing tour. We have booked with A Chef's Tour in Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and now Hanoi and have always had a wonderful experience.
