Apollo Theater

We end the tour at the Apollo Theater known worldwide for its legendary Amateur Night showcase every Wednesday early evening. At this this we do go inside to see the gift shop area, but the theater for tours is currently off limits due to COVID 19.

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is the preeminent institution for research and preservation of history across the Black diaspora. The institution archives more than ten million items pertaining the Black experience. There is usually an exhibit within the facility for public viewing. This was truly a lovely day. We felt like we were walking around with the mayor of Harlem. His knowledge and enthusiasm is a beautiful thing.

Awesome tour, very informative, we had a great time learning all about the history of Harlem. My son was able to play in the park and said he now feels like he’s a local.
I was not able to do this tour because of the incompetence of the agency!

I could not manage to do the tour as the start meeting point was changed without anyone telling me (I called the day before and they confirm the starting place was the one stated on the ticket). After many phone calls and much rudeness from the agent who answered my calls, I realize the guide decided to start the tour at the ending point. I walked 15 minutes to the supposed place and something else was happening there. It took me a while to realize it was another event. I went on purpose to Harley (1 hour away from my home), could not participate in it, and experienced much stress and rudeness. I am asking, please, for a refund.

While the tour guide was ten minutes late showing up he made up for it by providing a great tour. He was very nice and knowledgeable. He was accommodating to our schedule and preferences for what to see.
