Blackwell's Bookshop
Not quite Flourish and Blotts but as close as a muggle bookshop can be. Blackwells is the dream of every Ravenclaw, holding approximately holding 250,000 volumes, which translates to 3 miles of books! This is even more impressive knowing that their first store measured only 12 feet square, and held just 700 used books. Don't forget to have a look at the roof of the building from a distance. Don't worry the stone figure you'll see on top isn't someone petrified. It is a statue by Antony Gormley; one of a series of sculptures called “Another Time II”.
Bodleian Library
One of the largest libraries in England and home to archaic medieval books on spells and wizards!

We had booked the activity well in advance, and two days earlier send an email explaining that the weekend can not see the library, plus another room could not be seen inside ,for celebration of a wedding. If you know, don't do the activity at the end of the week, or collect money.

My recent Harry Potter Walking Tour of Oxford was an enchanting journey through the wizarding world, made even more special by our guide, Niamh. With a small group of just five participants, the tour felt intimate and personalized, allowing for engaging interactions and a deeper connection to the sites we visited. Niamh’s passion for both the Harry Potter series and the rich history of Oxford shone through her storytelling. She shared fascinating behind-the-scenes insights about the filming locations, revealing details that even seasoned fans might not know. Her knowledge extended beyond the films, intertwining tales of Oxford’s history with the magical moments from the series. One of the highlights was our visit to New College, where Niamh pointed out the cloisters and the iconic tree where Draco Malfoy was transformed into a ferret. Walking through these historic sites, it was easy to imagine the scenes from the films coming to life. The tour was well-paced, allowing us to absorb the information without feeling rushed. Niamh’s engaging manner and the small group size made for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. For fans of the Harry Potter series and those interested in the history of Oxford, this tour is a must. Niamh’s expertise and enthusiasm truly brought the magic of the wizarding world to life.

Valentina told us a lot about the history of Oxford, and there were also some Insiders. Even as a Harry Potter fan you were not disappointed, we saw some locations and also had enough time to take photos. We would definitely recommend the tour.
