Keeping it local for more than 20 years! Unlike large national companies that move into a city and cannibalize mom-and-pop enterprises, Louisville Historic Tours is a local tour operator started and run by locals. Showing off the best of the Derby City since 2004, our curated experiences rely on the talents of passionate individuals who live in and have a vested interest in the neighborhoods they showcase. In addition, our guided treks and experiential tours--all researched and written by Louisville author David Dominé--consistently receive accolades from national and international media sources, including The New York Times. When you sign up for a tour with Louisville Historic Tours, you're taking a tour with a local, and all of your money goes to local businesses and individuals. On average, Louisville Historic Tours pays its guides twice the rate paid by the national tour operators.

I would absolutely recommend to my family and friends. We were fortunate we had both David and Angelique as guides! Very knowledgeable and gracious! They went above and beyond to make it an amazing experience! It felt like we were giving a tour by a longtime friend we hadn’t seen for years! I’m excited to hopefully set something up with the rest of my family!

We loved this tour with David, who knows so much about the city. Tons of walking, but it was so worth it to see the amazing church and relics. Loved that it took you into other less touristy parts!

I had an amazing time on this walking tour! It was the perfect mix of local history, fun facts, and delicious food. Each stop offered something unique—from savory bites to sweet treats—and our guide, Zach, was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the city. Highly recommend for anyone who loves to eat and explore!

I had an absolute blast on the NULU Sites & Bites tour! I’ve lived in the area for a while, but I learned so much about this part of the city that I had no idea existed. The tour covers about 2.5 miles of walking, but every step was worth it—especially when we reached St. Martin of Tours Church. The architecture alone is stunning, but the relics, the stained glass windows, and the incredible pipe organ took my breath away. It was one of the most memorable parts of the whole day. The food stops along the way were all spot-on. I’m still torn between the Hot Brown pizza at Parlour and the beer cheese at West Sixth—both were insanely good. The stories shared at each stop really added depth and made the experience feel special and connected to the community. And of course, you can’t go wrong ending the day with a bourbon tasting—the perfect Kentucky finish! Highly recommend this tour whether you're visiting Louisville or just want to explore your own city in a whole new way. You'll walk away full—both in your stomach and in your soul.

The walking tour was exciting!! I discovered fascinating facts about the local landmarks and their significance over the years. Each stop on the tour added a new layer to my understanding of the NuLu community's rich heritage. Delicious food and drink were enchanting. I was impressed that they provided an ASL interpreter. Highly recommended!!!

Best walking bites and sips tour! It was a great day for a long walk filled with history, architecture and food bites enjoyed with friends and family. Zach our tour guide did a great job introducing us to Nulu; its old churches, murals, old and new places to eat and sip. Money well spent. Come with a friend or come alone, being part of the group was fun and safe. Charlee did an amazing job interpreting for the hearing impaired. My favorite the red beer and hot brown pizza at Falls City Beer and the Parlour! The bourbon sugar cookie, the modjeskas, pretzels and ended with bourbon were so yummy. Highly recommend!!

3 hours, 2 1/2 miles of walking, and tons of great stories and tasty samples along the way. The NuLu foodie tour with David was great because we didn't just see interesting parts of the East Market district in downtown Louisville, we also ventured into Butchertown and Phoeinix Hill to see some non-touristy parts. Going into the church was a real highlight and it made the extra trek worthwhile. The bourbon tasting at the end was the perfect way to cap off the tour! We had a room at the Brown, but we stayed in NuLu and had a great dinner at Nami afterwards.
