Originally a private home, this location was required by law to offer lodging after it was purchased by a ferry owner. With such a long history, it’s no surprise that spirits are said to haunt this spot. As we pass by, you'll hear the chilling stories of the ghosts associated with this historic site.
With its advanced stone heating unit in the basement, this site was home to the governor of Maryland from 1720-1727. However, the most intriguing ghost isn't from that era. Listen to the salacious tale of a 19th-century spirit that haunts this historic location.

5 stops anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes per stop. Spent half the time walking on uneven sidewalks made of bricks from the 1700's at quite a brisk pace as in a hurry to get thru the tour. Asked the guide to please slow her pace as not everyone in the group could keep up. I felt the stories were somewhat interesting but found the architecture to be more interesting than the stories In all, the experience was fair and not for those who have problems with balance or any physical limitations due to long uphill walks on uneven sidewalks.

Great historical lesson about the dark secrets of Annapolis. I was shocked and disappointed by the abuse of women and the way many of them met their end here. My heart weeps for them and their spirts.
